12. The Big Choice (12)

After the visit from the police Kevin didn't go on Facebook for another 3 days. He didn't even go on the internet in them 3 days either. He was scared and ashamed, but yet glad he got revenge on Luke. He didn't know what to do. He didn't want to go back to school when the month was over because he didn't want to meet Luke in real life after knowing that he hacked his Facebook account. What made Kevin feel most ashamed was what his farther said about hacking after what happened to his mother.

But after 3 days Kevin decided he was going to learn binary code. He also decided that he was going to have a little fun hacking a few other people's Facebook accounts. He thought that because he had already hacked once he might as well hack again. As he was learning binary code, he started to think that hacking was fun and cool. This was 8 days after the police had visited him and he had basically forgotten all about the police.

After he had hacked a couple of Facebook accounts he decided he was going to do something harder that would make it more of a challenge for him. And something more "cool". Saw he went on the internet looking up stuff to hack. That was when he found a rather strange website that just had a text box that said "code:" next to it. He tried guessing it but then he decided to brute force it like he did for the Facebook passwords. He thought that it was rather obvious that this site wanted you to hack the code to see if your a hacker. After only about 1 hour he had found the code. But when he typed it in the screen faded black and then suddenly green neon text popped up It said

"Welcome fellow hacker! Please log in or sign up to join our hacking community."

It had a green "cool" text background with loads of numbers and symbols. Which when he translated through the binary code that he had recently been learning, read,

"Learn new hacking methods, help us take down government websites, and much more. Only once we have been sent to prison but now we rise again!"

And then repeated it over and over.

Kevin moved his mouse into the sign up username box. He paused. His hands started to shake as he argued with himself if he should join or not. After a while he made his decision. He was going to be a hacker. His hand shock violently and he slowly and very nervously typed in his username. He then made up a password. But that's when he started shaking the most, when he had to click the submit button. He very slowly moved his mouse to the submit button.

And then "click", his life had been changed...
