Pitch Slapped

Delany was a freshman in high school and orientation was where clubs recruited the 'freshies'. Many clubs asked for her to come join but they all seemed to dorky like the chess club or book club. She didn't want to be a nerd like in middle school. She wanted to stand out, shine. That's when one specific club caught her eye, not just because of the guy recruiting with his brunette curls. Just the idea of it all. Being noticed.

15. It's Done

First period was always my worst period, History. I didn't understand any of it and it all bored me to death. I mean why do we have to learn it? It's History, it's in the past, it's done.

It's done. That last part brought back terrible memories  I started thinking about him and his charm, his smile.

You see I was in love with this boy in eighth, now I know what you're going to think. You were fourteen, you don't know what love is. Back then I swear I could of married the kid. We were both in eighth grade, he was tall, sweet, and we were best friends. We both started developing feelings for each other and he told me how he felt and I told him how I felt and we dated awhile.

Eight months ago he broke up with me saying he didn't feel anything between us anymore and I agreed. He was my first boyfriend, my first kiss, my first love, and they always say losing your first love is the hardest and it was. Believe me.

We both moved on and we gradually became friends again. Not as close as we were before we dated, but we smiled at each other in the hallways and made small talk. It was mutual.

"Ladies and gents take out a piece of paper and take some notes on my lecture of The French Revolution.

The whole class booed but took out a piece of paper. Notes are always fun, not.
