49. Chapter 49: the wrath of Eleanor Calder

Chapter 49: the wrath of Eleanor Calder

Our heads shoot straight to the owner of the voice. We were all panicking for a second because it was a female’s voice that greeted us. But once we saw her, we all relaxed.

‘God, Jenna. We thought you were Eleanor.’ I sighed in relief. The brunette girl smirked at us for a second before wiping it away.

‘Ya’ll are so dead.’ She taunted. I dropped my head in my hands.

‘We know.’ Louis spoke up.

‘Well, we’re just gonna have to come clean.’ i concluded. Louis gasped and Harry’s eyes widened.

‘Are you serious?’ Louis said, shocked.

‘It’s the only option we have, Lou. We can’t just lie again, she’ll catch us. You guys are internationally famous, she’s bound to find out soon. Yeah, we’ll all end up dying but at least we told her the truth?’ I tell them. They all sighed defeatedly.

‘Nice pep talk, Ali. You’ll be a great motivational speaker.’ Jenna said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at her.

‘Okay, we’ll do it.’ Harry agreed.

‘Goodie, I’ll call her.’ I said, whipping out my phone.

‘Loudspeaker.’ Jenna announced and I clicked the loudspeaker button. As the dial tone went, I started to get more and more nervous.

‘Hey, Ali.’ Her calm, cheerful tone scared me more than what was coming.

‘Hey, El.’ I said, my voice shaking.

‘What’s wrong? You sound a little nervous.’ I took a deep breath.

‘Um, come to Harry’s suite. We have things to discuss.’

‘Okay, be there in ten.’ Her calm tone sounded even more dangerous.

‘S-see you there.’ I stuttered and she hung up.

‘Her calm voice scares me more than her screaming one.’ Harry voiced all of our thoughts.

‘Wellp, since I’m not part of this... adios muchachos. Good luck facing the wrath of Eleanor Calder.’ Then she was gone.

‘I feel stupid for being scared of El. But honestly, this is worse than your eighth grade teacher saying they’ll call your parents.’ Louis announced.

‘Eighth grade teachers aren’t scary. We’re in high school by then. Year 7 is when shit got real and they scared the living daylights out of you.’ I said, welcoming the distraction.

‘High school starts in seventh grade?’ Harry asked.

‘Yep. And let me tell you, seventh grade is where everything starts. You can’t change who you are in the next few years. You’re who you are in seventh grade all through high school.’ I tell them, remembering my year 7 days.

‘Seriously? Wow, it must have been scary going into seventh grade.’

‘It was. I became popular in year 7 so I was popular through my whole high school lives. Year 7 practically defines you.’

‘Australia is so interesting.’ Louis commented and I laughed.

‘Everything is different in Australia. There’s no queen bee’s or jocks or nerds or any of that. There is the occasional slut and desired guy but that’s all. And to be one of the popular people you practically have to have good grades. You don’t have to be pretty and you don’t have to be mean. When you’re popular, being nice has to happen. And if you’re a bully you go down, like everyone will start to give you a hard time because you gave someone else a hard time.’

‘I should’ve just gone to Australia for school. It sounds amazing.’

‘It sounds amazing but it’s not all that.’ I laughed.

‘Alright, I’m here. And you all better explain this.’ Eleanor’s angry voice came through the door, holding up her phone in our faces.

i bit my lip, not saying anything. She looked furious. Louis went to go give her a hug but she pushed him aside with a glare. Harry didn’t move a single muscle from where he was on the couch beside me.

‘Well?’ She said, expecting an answer. I took a deep breath in.

‘El, please don’t be mad. We lied to you because we just wanted to forget about it.’ I said with my palms turned up like some kind of miracle would pop up.

‘What would you need to forget about? It was just a relationship, I can handle Louis’ ex-girlfriends. Plus, you’re not that bad. And don’t tell me because it would’ve been awkward because I know for a fact it wouldn’t be awkward at all. It has something to do with the break up doesn’t it? Louis, what. did. you. do.’ She ranted and faced Louis with the scariest glare on her face.

‘I-I... um. I practically ended our relationship through an interview.’ He stuttered, cowering in terror.

‘You what!?’ Eleanor screamed at her boyfriend.

‘I didn’t tell her we were over? She found out through an interview on national tv?’

‘You idiot! Why would you do that! I can’t believe you right now. Why would hurt Ali like that? My dear god, she was probably heartbroken. And I bet you promised to talk to her everyday and all that. You’re so stupid! Why, you idiot, why!?’ Eleanor yelled at him.

‘Because I met up with you.’ Louis finally admitted. Harry and I exchanged worried glances. Louis is going to die at the end of this.

You broke up with her through national tv because of me.’ She said slowly, her voice building up venom. Louis nodded his head. ‘You goddamn idiot!’

‘I know, I told her i was sorry for everything and she forgives me. Now we’re saying sorry for lying and we’re hoping you would forgive us.’ Louis finally mustered up the courage to tell her.

‘Oh, I forgive them for lying. But I definitely don’t forgive you for doing that to Ali.’

‘What!? Are you serious, El.’

‘Yes, I’m damn serious. I’m not forgiving you on the behalf of Ali’s irrational side.’

‘Um, El. Ali forgives him, and it’s not exactly you’re problem to get into.’ Harry tired to reason with her.

‘Shut up, Harry.’ She held up a hand and Harry instantly quietened.

‘El, come on. It’s okay, I don’t mind that he left me for you. You two are completely perfect for each other. I forgive him, you should too.’ I told her. Her face softened a little.

‘You sure? Because I can put him through hell for you.’ I laughed lightly.

‘I’m sure, El. Honestly, the past is the past.’ I smiled.

‘Okay, fair enough.’ She turned to face Louis. ‘I’m still mad at you but I guess I can forgive you.’

‘Should we tell her about Sam? I don’t think she’s going to stop.’ Harry whispered in my ear. I looked at him and I nodded.

‘Um, El... there’s more.’ I announce, redirecting her attention to me.

‘You’re going to tell her?’ Louis asked, incredulous.

‘We have to, Lou. You’re part of it.’ He sighed.

‘But we can find a way, I don’t want her part of this.’

‘Tell me what!’ Eleanor asked impatiently.

‘When I met Louis in Australia they gave me a number which I called and all. Louis came over that one night. It was also the same night my psychopathic ex-boyfriend came back from prison and almost killed me. Louis came, saved my life-’ I was then cut off when Eleanor said ‘Finally, the idiot does something useful.’ and Louis screamed out ‘Hey’ and i glared at them both before continuing,  ‘-and put him back in jail. But what we didn’t know was that he had a girlfriend who was just as psycho as he is and is now threatening to hurt the both of us.’

‘Wellp... that is crazy as.’ Eleanor said after a moment’s silence.

Harry snorted. ‘Tell me about it.’

‘Wait, shouldn’t she still be in Australia?’ She asked.

‘Nope, followed us here.’ I told her.

‘Well, then arrest the bitch. Put her in prison with your psycho ex-boyfriend. Then you two can live a happy life together.’ She concluded.

‘Two? Who?’ I asked.

‘You and Harry, of course!’ She grinned.

‘Oh, we’re not...’ I said at the same time Harry said, ‘That’s not...’ We both looked at each other and i blushed, looking away.

‘Yep, utter bullshit.’ Eleanor said and Louis agreed.

‘Anywaaaaay... we’ll figure it out along the way.’ I said, throwing my hands up in the air and standing up.

‘I should get going, back to my house of Australians.’ I said before any of them said a thing. ‘Bye guys!’ I screamed while getting out of the room.

I would give anything to have an uneventful day without all this crap and just sit with a cup of tea and good book. But no... my life is just all about chasing the sun.
