My Poetry

2. All My Fears

Dawn has come,

and I am awake.

My senses are numbed

by the event that is making me quake.

I'm dizzy in my head,

I feel like I might vomit.

For the event, I feel dread.

My mind is saying no and there is no way to calm it.

A small tease will set me off,

a shout or bang can make my head sing.

I pass a sob for a cough,

for there's nothing else to bring.

The time is upon us,

and I feel like I'm walking to my death bed.

I've been so nervous; I made a huge fuss.

But there have been no tears that I have shed.

And strong I must stand,

to end very grand.
