45. You Need Help

We woke up about an hour later, groggy and stiff. I stretched my arms and rubbed my eyes, then mom did the same. "Morning sunshine." she said, giggling. I smiled at her and shifted my body to face her.

"So guess what..." I cleared my throat, ready to spill out the exciting news. She hummed in response, ready to hear what I had to say. "I'm going to England."

"Ooh! That's exciting. For a trip for school or something?"

"No, Ma. I graduated already. And I'm moving there."

She cleared her throat, "You... What?"

"I'm going to England. And staying there."

"No you're not."

"Yes I am." I said, standing up and crossing my arms. "Wait Mom, There's mo-"

"It's because of that British guy isn't it? Just because you're in love doesn't mean you have to move out of the country! This is crazy, Amber! You could've thought of something so much better. I thought you were brighter than that."

"Since when do you care what I do with my life? All you care about is yourself!!!!!" i shouted, making my throat hurt.

"Amber Lynn Scott! Don't you dare speak to me like that!" She roared back. "You know what... You're giving me a headache. And when he breaks your heart, don't come crawling to me."

"Stop acting like such a protective parent! You don't care about me! You left! I'm leaving and there's nothing you can do about it." I stomped out of the room and then stomped back in. "Did you really think I was going to leave you and Lily out of this plan? Do you really think that little of me?" I clenched my jaw and sighed. "And he won't break my heart..."

"Hmm, yeah, right." she rolled her eyes. "Wait... what did you say? The thing about leaving us out?"

"I made plans for us already. To become a family again. You need help, Mom. I want you to come with me, I wouldn't just leave without you two. My boss said she'd pay for rehab... for you." She bowed her head in shame.

"I... Amber... I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were... I didn't know there was more."

"You didn't let me finish." I responded, my voice cracking.

"I'm sorry, baby." she pleaded. "I'm very grateful that you're trying to help, but I couldn't do that. Take your boss' money... That's preposterous." She told me, grabbing my hand and giving it a squeeze.

"It was a compromise, don't worry." I smiled. "It'll be better out there. A fresh start." she nodded as Lily came into the room. "Hi baby girl. What have you been doing?"

"Playing with my dollies." She pouted.

"What's wrong?"

"One time..." she began, "Niall and me played dollies But he told me not to tell anyone." I laughed aloud at the thought of him playing with plastic dolls. "I miss him." she added, with a long sigh.

"Well, how would you like it if we went to go live with Zayn? Then Niall and the rest of the boys could come see us whenever they wanted." Her face brightened immediately, making me smile.

"Really!?!?!?!?!" She jumped up and down on the bed and into my arms. I hugged her and giggled at her enthusiasm.

This will be great, I thought, with a huge grin on my face.
