28. I Have To Go
I crouched down and gripped onto the bars or the railing as I sobbed wildly. I wiped my nose with my arm and reached into my pocket to find a cigarette. Zayn's lighter was placed next to the ashtray on a small table beside me. I watched as the stick began to glow and relaxed my nerves while I took the first drag. I rolled my eyes when I heard the door behind me slide open. I sniffled as I violently wiped the evidence of tears from my face. My senses received the smell of smoke and I slowly closed my eyes when I began felt his presence behind me. He sighed without saying a word while I sucked in another drag. I let it flow out of my nose and fake coughed as I felt more tears at the rim of my orbs. I pursed my lips and turned my head because I felt his eyes on me.
My wet hair blew in the wind, causing me to shiver. "You're going to get sick." He huffed, coming closer. I scratched my knee with my fingernail and placed the cigarette in my mouth with frustration. I shook my head and looked across the road at a couple of guys with cameras. Tears gushed down my cheeks and I tried not whimper. Zayn placed his hand on my shoulder but I shrugged it off, then stared at him coldly. "Amber..." I took another drag from the tiny stub and tossed it in the tray next to me. I blew the smoke in his face and he smirked. I stood up and he reached out to wipe my tears but I smacked his hand away and walked towards the door. He grabbed my wrist and I weakly turned to him as the pain traveled through my veins. I looked at him with my mouth opened and whimpered at his cruel touch.
"That hurts." I said breathlessly, remembering Noah and the way he used to hurt me. Maybe Zayn was no different. He realized that he was hurting me and let go with a sincere look on his face. I pushed him against the railing and he held my waist. His fingers twisted the end of my shirt and I wriggled out of his grip. I went inside and he followed. At that point I had had about enough of him. He called after me as I speed walked down the hallway. I entered the living area where each of the boys sat with the same girls they'd been with last night. I smiled at them uncomfortably but when Zayn caught up to me, my grin had disappeared.
"We need to talk about this." He said attempting to catch my arm. I prevented it by moving away swiftly and whipped around to him so that our noses almost touched.
"There's nothing to talk about. I have to go. Don't follow me." I said simply. His frown remained on his face as I slammed the front door and rushed down to the lobby, unaware of where I was headed.
