Run Faster

The story of Dakota, a normal teenage girl - or at least she thought until she is sent on an FBI mission to rescue her kidnapped father and stop nuclear weapons from being manufactured.

6. Chapter 6

"Forget the feeling of safety because you'll never have that feeling again. I don't remember it." The man with accent, Agent 12, said. "Forget your name because, now, you are known as Agent 527. Forget your family and friends - friend - because you'll never see them again." That last one hit me like a bullet to the chest. I had worked so hard to keep my mother alive, and now a I had to forget about her all together. "Don't feel bad. Soon enough you will forget what emotions are."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who ever said I agreed to do this again?"

"You don't have a choice, Agent 527. Do you want your father back or what?" I remained silent as we walked down a narrow hallway. When we reached the doors at the end, Agent 12 said, "Here is where you will do all of your training." We entered a gargantuan room with high ceilings and people - hundreds - training, training, training. "First we will make you familiar with the gear you will be using. This isn't going to be simple, Agent 527. You will not only have to save your father, but there will be a bigger job you will have to focus on."

  "What?" I asked.

"I don't think you're ready for that information."

  "C'mon. Tell me."

  "At a later time."

I picked up a whip-like object on the table to my right. "I don't know what this thing is, but I'm not afraid to find out."

"Okay, okay. Please put that down." I did as I was told. "You will have to stop the manufacturing of nuclear weaponry."
