Stand By Me (One Direction Fanfiction)

Amelia, or Amy as she was known to her friends, was an ordinairy girl living in London. Well, she wasn't the kind of girl to follow the crowd. She doesn't like One Direction, she likes listening to Beethovan. She watches Doctor Who, loves school and is a nerd. Her and her friends are the outcasts at school, but her life turns upside down when she meets One Direction and friendships develop between them.

3. Chapter Three: Friendships Form

"So, you're in One Direction?" I asked them, after the group of girls had all the photos and autographs done and they had left, as we walked to Nando's where we were meeting Niall, Zayn and Liam.
"Yup." replies Harry smiling.
"So how come you don't know about us?" asked Louis curiously,
"Well, I have heard of you. The girls at my school won't shut up about you guys. It's just that I don't really pay attention to what's in fashion, I'm usually too busy watching Star Wars or Doctor Who or studying." I explained,
"Cool." said Harry as we turned the corner and walked towards Nando's, where I could see three people waiting in front looking not very pleased with Louis.

"Uh oh, someone's in trouble." I teased Louis, he poked his tongue out at me.
"Oh now look who's being childish." I replied elbowing him in the ribs playfully. Louis looked down ashamedly as we walked towards the person, Liam I assumed, who was standing in the middle of the two guys beside him. He had brown hair. The guy on his left had blonde hair and looked like a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. The other person had dark hair perfectly styled and stared broodingly at us.

"This is Zayn," Louis introduced the guy with the perfectly styled hair.
"Liam." he added pointing at the guy in the middle "and Niall." he said pointing to the blonde guy, whom I noticed was already eating, which I assumed was Nando's.

"Hi." exclaimed Niall. He had an Irish accent. He also talked with his mouth full.
"Aw geez Niall. We want the news not the weather. Say it don't spray it." complained Harry as some food from Niall's mouth landed in Harry's hair. We all burst out laughing.
"I am beginning to like you guys already." I announced.

~10 minutes later~

"So what is your favourite movie?" asked Harry leaning over the table.
"Thats a hard one to answer" I said thinking " But it would have to be Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy." I finished,
"Favourite song?" demanded Louis as soon as I answered the first question.
"I dunno, I like lots of songs." I said,
"Favourite food?" asked Niall,
"Fish fingers and custard." I replied, laughing at their disgusted expressions.
"Favourite.." questioned Zayn but I interrupted him.
"What is this. The Spanish Inquisition?" I said teasingly.
"We're just interested in what you like." said Harry with a mock sad expression on his face.
"One more question! Please!" cried Louis jumping up an down in his seat.
"Fine, but only because you look like you're going to wet yourself." I laughed.
"What is your favourite tv series." he asked.
"Well of course it's Doctor Who." I replied like it was the most obvious thing.
"Heard of it, never seen it." said Harry looking bored.
"What! Why?" I demanded
"Because, it's for nerds..." he died off at the end of his sentence when he saw my shocked face.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you a nerd." he panicked,
"Harry, I don't mind that you think I'm a nerd. Its that you've never seen an episode of Doctor Who." I replied as he calmed down. I looked down at my watch. Oh no! I had to be home by half past three, I had ten minutes to get home.

"Guys, I've really enjoyed getting to know you but I have to be back at home in ten minutes." I exclaimed as I leapt up from the table,
"Aw, why do you have to leave now?" asked Niall, who was still eating.
"I've been hanging out with you guys for about three hours and my parents are really strict on how long I go out for." I explained walking towards the door,
"But I wanted to hang out more." said Louis sadly.
"Well, here's my phone number. Text me if you want." I said hurriedly, writing mu number on a piece if paper then I quickly left out of the restaurant and ran home.

~15 minutes later~

I burst through the door, sweaty and red faced, and found my parents waiting for me in the lounge.
"You're late." said my father in an annoyed tone.
"By five minutes!" I exclaimed
"That's no excuse and do not answer back." replied my mother.
"Yes, mother. Sorry I was late." I apologised and went upstairs to my room. Oh well, always look on the bright side of life (as Anne says, or constantly sings is a better way to describe it) and reading Pollyanna always cheers me up.
