Losing Myself For You

Grace is a 19 year old girl just trying to pay the bills of her new apartment in Doncaster, England. She decides to go into the tutoring program for younger kids at the local high school, but when she meets Lottie's older brother one day will it strike up some romance? Or maybe conflict? And will she still be able to focus on her job and career with the new distractions?

9. Stepping Up My Game

Louis's P.O.V.
I drove to Grace's house because she left before I could ask her, and I didn't want to allow myself a night of thinking about it.
I was on her floor when I saw that same blond guy talking to her outside her apartment.
I just watched for a while, but she invites him in so what was I to do?
I went back home and waiting till the next morning... It was then that I decided I wanted to get a coffee.

Grace's P.O.V.
I woke up the next morning feeling miserable. Mentally miserable.
Why hadn't things worked out with Carter? He was a great guy and cute and maybe I just didn't give him a chance.
I was working in the back that morning, unloading coffee beans and other ingredients from the truck. It was probably 45 degrees that morning, so I wore a sweatshirt and jeans. Which If I may add is against dress code, but my boss didn't really believe in the dress code all that much.
I was unloading some of the bags when Jean came out back," Sweetie there's a young man here to see you, and George came in early for his shift so you can leave. We will still pay you for the day."
" Are you sure Jean? You don't do that for the other employees," I knew she worried about me, especially since I needed the money. She even offered to
Pay my first couple rents but I quickly declined.
" Of course, plus he's a very good looking boy, would be good for you," she winked at me and I laughed.
I walked inside kind of expecting to see Carter, but instead I saw Louis..

Louis's P.O.V.
She came out cheeks red from the cold, in a grey sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.
She looked perfect," Hey I want to stop by and say hello, we never got a chance to talk yesterday."
She kind of froze and said," Oh... Sorry... I umm.. I have to work."
The older lady I had talked to before came from behind the counter," Grace, George came in early. Your free," winking at her.
I laughed," Well it looks like your free now, come on you must be freezing. Let me at least buy you a drink."
She nodded and we ordered, sat down and began talking.
" So how's Lottie?" she asked.
I laughed," I don't know you tell me I see her probably as much as you do."
She smiled," She's a sweet girl..."
" My sister? Sweet?," I laughed," she's always hung out with these two kids, its good for her to have you."
She took a sip of coffee and asked," is one of them David?"
At that I busted out laughing," Good old Dave..."
She interrupted," What's wrong with him?"
" He's had a mad crush on Lot forever and he won't make a move. Haz and I try to get him too, but he just won't talk to us about it."
" And how do you know he likes her?"
" Well I see the way he looks at her and compare it to," I stopped. I almost said it out loud.
She smiled," Compare it to what?"
" Oh shut up," I replied, feeling myself blush. No stop, I'm not the girl here.
" Anyway I wanted to talk to you about this dinner I have to go to on Saturday..."
She abruptly stopped drinking her coffee and looked me in the eyes," Lottie is going isnt she?"
" Yeah but that's not what I wanted to ask you."
She smiled," Go on."
I suddenly felt very nervous and awkward," Well... I was.. Wondering... If you..."
She laughed," Spit it out otherwise I can't answer."
I took a deep breath, smiled, and said," I was wondering if you would go with me?"
She smiled for a split second and then said," Nope."
She pulled out her phone, I was shocked," No? That's it? Come on Gracie.."
She was serious," Don't call me Gracie."
" Fine, but seriously why wont you go?"
" Because think how awkward that is for Lottie. Her brother and her tutor.. Its just not going to.."
" She was the one who suggested I do so," I interrupted.
She stopped," Really?"
I nodded, taking another sip of coffee.
" Louis?" she asked.
I just looked at her hopefully.
" I'll go, but we are going as FRIENDS right?"
I nodded," Of course love, you wouldn't be able to handle all this," I joked," If it were a date date."
She laughed," Alright I guess I'll go."
