Always Smile

Amore was a normal girl. She fits in and always knew how to light up a room. But what people don't know is that not everything is perfect in her world... and this secret may lead to her end...

11. Broken Wings ~Nikki Flores

For dinner, I got dressed in gray skinny jeans and a navy blue dolman top with my navy blue bikini underneath. I paired it with my all black converse and my necklace. I waited outside the hotel room for Raelynn and Rose, my only two REAL best friends. They came out together.

"Ready to go?" I asked.

"Yeah!" They said in unison.

We took a cab down to the supermarket and got supplies for a picnic. Then we walked down to a park we had found a few days earlier. It was quiet, a large open space with a lake. We settled down on our blanket and began to eat.

"I can't wait for this vacation to be over." Rose said, breaking the silence.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean how April has become a bitch and Charlotte is just being her little follower. It's getting fucking annoying to have to deal with that." She answered.

"What I want to know is what happened between us? We were all fine before we left NYC. Here in London,  our friendship pretty much died... " Raelynn asked with wonder in her voice.

I looked down at the sandwich I was eating and explained... everything. From the dreams that I had to April telling me to stay away from Harry. When I finished, both girls just stared at me.

"You do know that we're always gonna be here for you Amore, no matter what happens." Raelynn finally said. Rose nodded in agreement.

I smiled. They were truly the best friends that anyone could ask for.

"Lets go swimming!" I cheered, already taking off my clothes and dashing to the water. Rose and Raelynn giggled behind me and we all jumped in with our arms linked together. We were racing, splashing, and were mainly just being ourselves. We forgot about our troubles and were just living life for that one moment. I forgot about how broken I had felt inside, like an angel losing its wings.

Laughing, we climbed out of the water.

"That. Was. So. Much. Fun!" Rose said, laughing in between words. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my body and then my hair.

"Woah..." Raelynn said suddenly.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She showed me her phone. It was 2:36 am. We had about thirty missed calls from the boys all together, a couple from Charlotte, and none from April. Surprise, surprise.

"We should probably get going then." Rose said, already putting away our picnic. I put my clothes back on and helped her put everything away. We hailed a cab and got back to the hotel at about 3:20. We went to the elevator and pressed our floor. When we got out, we tiptoed silently to our room. Rose unlocked the door and we walked in, as silent as a feather drifting through the air.

"Goodnight girls." I said.

"Night." They both said after we all got settled in bed. The three of us shared a room so we didn't wake anyone up. I drifted into a deep sleep.

The moon shone brightly around, all around. I was bathed in the white light reflecting from its surface. The trees were white, bark, leaves, and all. The grass beneath my feet was a deep purple. I wiggled my toes and felt the soft, smooth land underneath.

The trees behind me rustled. I spun around quickly. A shadow was walking towards me, coming closer and closer. Moonlight began to illuminate its face... the face of a man... I had seen that face somewhere. He came closer, his face almost completely shown. Then...
