Missing Darcy

"Darcy was the one thing that had kept Stella and I together, and now she had turned into the thing that was tearing us apart..."

Harry and Stella's once-strong relationship was completely erased. Harry unaware, Stella found out she was carrying Harry's baby. Determined to get Stella back, Harry stuck by her side nonstop after Darcy was born. Upon taking care of her, they learned things about each other and were brought closer than ever before. Darcy was their miracle.

Until she went missing.

7. Making Up

I didn't get home until late that night. The boys decided to take me out to try to get my mind off things. I hadn't been this stressed in a long time.

I opened the door quietly, wincing as it made a loud creaking noise, because I figured Stella to be asleep. Taking off my shoes and slipping around in just my socks, I started to make my way up the wooden stairs. At about the fourth step, I tripped and twisted my ankle.

"Harry?" I heard someone whisper from the living room. I limped over and found Stella sitting in front of the lit fireplace with a blanket pulled over her body.

"I'm sorry babe. did I wake you?"

"No, it's fine. I'm just sitting here doing nothing," she said. "What was that noise?"

"Oh, you know, just tripped down the stairs," was all I said. She laughed.

"Good job."

I sat down on the couch right next to her and tugged on the blanket. "Gimme."

She pulled it back, a smile on her face. "Let me see your ankle," Stella said and took off my sock and rolled up the leg of my jeans.

"Well first off, you are in desperate need of a pedicure," she started and I smiled. "But your ankle looks a little swollen. I'll get you some ice."

"No,no," I said, snuggling up to Stella, "You stay right here." She rested her head on my shoulder. I could feel her eyes on me.

"Harry?" she whispered.

"Yeah." I answered, falling asleep already.

"Can we just forget the world for like, a minute? Maybe two?"

"I wish I could," I answered.

"I'm sorry for yelling earlier," she said.

"No, I'm sorry for-"

And she shut me up with a kiss. But this wasn't just a peck on the lips kiss. This was a kiss filled with passion and a little urgency. I allowed my hands to get tangled in her light hair, and she tugged on mine. And without realizing it, I did forget the world for a minute or two before pulling away.

"We're good now," Stella said, giving me a half smile.I brushed a strand of hair out of her face.

"Okay, babe, I'm going to bed," she said, and playfully slapped my knee as she stood up. The knee that had gotten hurt in the accident.

"Mmmff..." I mumbled, trying to cover it up as much as possible, but me grabbing my knee with a pained look on my face was pretty obvious.

"Huh?" she turned around, startled.

"No, really,"

"Oh, I didn't know, I'm sorry-"

"No, I know, it's my fault for not telling you-"

Stella looked like she was about to cry. Her hands were up towards her mouth and her eyes were filled with concern.

"Really. It's okay." I said.

"Don't even THINK about walking up the stairs now..." she said. "We'll just sleep down here. It's okay." Stella laid down on the couch next to me, so her feet were next to my head.

I took my finger and traced it from her bare toes to her heel. "Stop! That tickles!" she said giggling and pulled her feet slightly back.

"I think I'd be a lot more comfortable if our faces were closer to each other," I said.

"Unless you want to attempt walking up the stairs with a sprained ankle and severely injured knee, it's not happening," she joked. I pretended I was sleeping and let out an obviously fake snore. She kicked me.

"Watch it!"

Stella sighed. "I think today was just one of those days where absolutely nothing goes right. One of those days that you just need to get behind you, and start over the next day."

"Yeah," I said.

She was quiet for a long time before she spoke, and what she said surprised me.

"Harry, is it bad that I haven't thought about Darcy at all today, except when we had that conversation?"

I thought about that for a long time. "I don't know." I said.

"I was starting to wonder the same thing."
