All Hail Barracutus *On Hold*

War is ripe for the planet of Sempiterna. For generations the twelve major tribes/species (Unless you believe in the tales of the Wizards who say there are thirteen) have very little knowledge of the meaning of the word "peace". Only recently has the tribe of the Svets Deus brought about an era of peace.
In the meanwhile, Barracutus, a normal Kyanos Diamon, struggles to solve the past about the ancient forefathers of Sempiterna. Though could the knowledge of the ancient forefathers be a bigger mystery than he had originally thought it to be? Read throughout to uncover the history of Sempiterna in the first book of an epic trilogy.

7. Chapter 5: Gladiators' Construct

Barracutus woke up the next morning and made his way to the table in the center. There sat Xeterex the Svets Deus. "A restless night?" Xeterex inquired with a slight glare. Barracutus sat down in confusion and just looked at Xeterex very awkwardly. Again Xeterex said, "A restless night... Or so I presume? You had been wrestling in your sleep and breathing quite hard a minute ago. You also told me you would not be up this early, and be at least until daybreak. Something troubling you?"

And again Barracutus looked at Xeterex with confusion. This time Barracutus questioned in return, "Are you sure, that perhaps you are not mistaken? I vividly remember telling you that I was going to take a small walk and clear my mind. So then I would return, and sleep until morning... as I have done."

"Barracutus," Xeterex continued slowly and sternly, "What walk are you talking about? We have been on the dragon ever since we had taken that small break. Let me assure you, these dragons move far too fast for anyone to take a walk and return. You were here since then."

"You are not one to lie Xeterex, and I know that." Barracutus carried on as he leaned over the table, "But I know I had taken that walk. Have we not just passed my ancestors' city of Fortfarande Vatten? I was walking around the city walls there with another Kyanos Diamon, quite large actually."

"We have, but even so..." Xeterex stopped there as he knew Barracutus thought otherwise.

"Even so what, Xeterex?" Barracutus asked.

"Even so... that was hours ago. I was awake as we passed there and we had made no such stop to allow you time to walk around as you say you did." He returned.

Barracutus then sat back and looked up in deep thought. They both weren't lying, and now Barracutus had found himself lost and perplexed. Suddenly he looked right at Xeterex and stated frankly, "A game of chess while I explain my passed occurrence?"

"Hmm, indeed. I would very much like to hear of this." The two set up the arrangement of pieces accordingly. Once that had been done, Xeterex interjected, "Your move, Barracutus."
