All Hail Barracutus *On Hold*

War is ripe for the planet of Sempiterna. For generations the twelve major tribes/species (Unless you believe in the tales of the Wizards who say there are thirteen) have very little knowledge of the meaning of the word "peace". Only recently has the tribe of the Svets Deus brought about an era of peace.
In the meanwhile, Barracutus, a normal Kyanos Diamon, struggles to solve the past about the ancient forefathers of Sempiterna. Though could the knowledge of the ancient forefathers be a bigger mystery than he had originally thought it to be? Read throughout to uncover the history of Sempiterna in the first book of an epic trilogy.

14. Chapter 12: The Golden Front

In his gleaming, golden armor, Xeterex sheathed his sword by his waist saluted the Blue Dragons as they left the capitol. As Draconis walked past, Xeterex stopped her and restated, "We will follow soon. Remember the Western gate is where you will escape the city and see to it that the Diamons are your main priority. Understood?"

"No harm will meet them. It is understood." Draconis promised as she nodded her head.

Once the Blue Dragons left, Xeterex kept a small slit between the doors of Heaven's Wonder to look out of. He watched as the Diamons and the Svets Deus went into the murky streets. Eventually, minutes after their departure, Xeterex ordered that he and the Golden Dragons head for the main gate. "Do not stop for anything." Xeterex stated clearly.

The Golden Dragons ran out and followed Xeterex as they headed for the main gate. They struggled to gasp for air, while they continued sprinting away. Xeterex kept his arm close and tight to his chest and held a very strange looking item between them. In his other arm Xeterex carried a gilded kite-shield bearing the Symbol of the Dragon.

Some distance off before the Dragons reached the gate, Xeterex stopped before they entered the city's main road. "We will spend some time to rest here. It would appear that our enemies have learned of our plan to escape. I fear the main gate will be nearly impenetrable."

The Golden Dragons' captain declared suspiciously, "Indeed, our current situation would certainly lead us to the assumption. I would have expected more resistance than none as far as we are now. Honestly, we have only fought for clean air to breathe."

"Exactly my point," Xeterex went on still clasping the item near his chest, "Once we enter the main road, I believe we will meet the resistance you speak of. Clearly though, to escape through the main gate without harm is a fantasy."

The captain suggested in a fainthearted tone, "Perhaps they already expect us to come to the gate. Should we try something less conspicuous?"

Xeterex squinted his eyes at the captain and snapped, "No! We will go through the gates as planned. Maybe you should have the honor to lead us with your bravery." After the Golden Dragons rejuvenated their breath, Xeterex commanded that they ready themselves for the assault. The warriors equipped their kite-shields and arranged themselves to form a phalanx. "To victory!" Xeterex roared.

"In the name of Evol we charge!" The warriors screamed as they began to charge. The Golden Dragons became perplexed while they came closer to the gate. Still, they were unharmed and there was not an enemy in sight. They continued to sprint toward the gate and to their surprise it was left completely open. As the Dragons left the city, they headed for a Kyanos Diamon camp not too far away from Heaven's Peak. Here they were to meet an elder who was an old companion of Xeterex.

Xeterex stopped when he was a few feet out of the city and looked back into the city with a sense of distress. Gravely he whispered to himself, "Thank you my friends. I will never forget, and your help will not be in vain." Quickly, Xeterex turned around and caught up with the rest of the Dragons to the camp.
