Pretend It's Love

"Hey girl it's now or never, it's now or never."
Spencer always wanted to leave America to live in England. She always felt like herself there everytime she visited. So when her parents give the big news that her family was moving there permanently, Spencer was excited to live there and hang out with her friends. The only problem is that her friends got One Direction tickets and they want her to come. Spencer doesn't like 1D in any way or form. But when things get messed up, will her life become different?

3. The Party

My parents came home about an hour later with three beds, four dressers, and four desks, one for me, one for Brian, and one for mom and dad for work. I told them about Ruth and the anniversary party that she invited us to. My mom said that it was nice of her to invite us, but she couldn't go because she needed to find a job in case my dad gets fired. My dad said the same thing, but he couldn't go either since he has to go to town to meet his boss for the first time. So that left me and Brian to go to the party. Since Brian has his license, he can drive half an hour all the way to Wulverhampton, which is where Ruth lives. We decided to go for a fancy ettire. Brian is wearing a collar shirt with nice pants and, a first, a tie. I'm wearing a black skirt, white cami with a black shroul and a red flower headband. In another first in the Bridgett family, I'm wearing heels for the first time, my black hair is down, and I'm wearing contacts. I'm not my usual self, I'm Spencer Bridgett, trying to make an impression on England.

The drive to Wulverhampton took 45 minutes, a little longer than expected because Brian wasn't used to the driver's seat being on the left side when back in America, it's on the right. I noticed where Ruth's house was because there was a house with a lot of cars parked out front. Kids in fancy clothes running around the front yard, adults talking on the back porch, and teens just hanging out inside. There was a banner that said: "Happy 25th Anniversary!" Brian found a spot to park, and we walked towards the party. I saw someone running in our direction. It was Ruth.

"You came! I'm so glad you came! Where's your parents?" She asked.

"Our mom is looking for a job at home and our dad is meeting his boss." Brian answered.

"Oh, Ruth, this is my older brother, Brian. Brian, this is Ruth, the girl I was telling you about." I said.

"Well, both of you look fabulous. Come on, I want you to meet the family. My brother isn't here yet. He just got off the plane, and he and his friends are on their way here at this moment." She told us.

We went inside her house and was introduced to her family. I met her sister, Nicola. Her parents, the ones celebrating 25 years. Her aunts, uncles, and cousins. I also got to meet some of her friends, some of Nicola's friends, and some of her brother's, whose name is Liam, friends. One of his friends, Andy, is really funny. We all went outside and started to dance. One of the songs that played, Everything About You, brought back memories of earlier this year when Grace, Clara, and Rachael were blasting the 1D cd that they had even though I specifically told them I didn't want to listen to them. Either way, I just danced along. Suddenly, Nicola came over telling Ruth something that we couldn't hear. Ruth told us that her brother and friends were hear and that she'll be right back.

I looked over to Brian and made a face at him. Maybe he can get along with Liam and his friends. The back door opened and out came five boys dressed in fancy clothes like all of us. Ruth, Nicola, and their parents ran over to hug one of them. Suddenly, I realized that I have seen their faces before, then it came to me. I looked over at Brian again and saw that he had a shocked look on his face like mine.

Ruth's last name was Payne. Her brother was Liam Payne, one-fifth of One Direction, the band that I despised.
