Don't Forget Me

Saying I despise Harry Styles is an understatement, but now that he’s decided to take a break from the spotlight for a little while I have to deal with him. And worst of all, he’s stay at my house for a few days! I know this is every fangirls dream, but don’t judge me until you know my side of the story.

1. He's Back

Keera’s POV

“Teen heartthrob Harry Styles decides to take a break from fame for a few months and go back to his hometown, Holmes Chapel. Stay tuned for more on this story.”

I changed the channel as fast as I could so I wouldn’t have to hear about Harry Styles and his fabulous life as 1/5 of the band One Direction. The name made me feel sick to my stomach.

Bloody Harry Styles and stupid curls that everyone loved.

I was in the middle of having a perfectly good conversation with myself about how much I wished he’d get tonsillitis or some other type of illness that would interfere with his wonderful singer career when my mum interrupted me.

“Keera sweetie, you need to help me tidy up around the house.”

“Why? The house looks perfectly fine.” I said as I look around the living room that seemed to be spotless.

“Yes, but we’re having some guest stay for a few days.” She replied

I decided I’d be a good person today and try to help my mum out. Ever since my dad passed away last summer in a car crash, things had been a lot harder on her. She had to start working two jobs and she was never as happy anymore.

“Make sure you clean your room Keera!” she called from the kitchen.

I got up from the couch, turned off the television and went upstairs into my room. This was going to be a project. My room had clothes all over the floor along with some books and my laptop. I picked everything up, hung up all my clothes and put my books away. After I made my bed I looked around at the room. It was spotless.

“Good job Keera.” I said to myself admiring my work.

I walked downstairs into the kitchen to get a snack. My mom was preparing a massive dinner.

“Are these guests coming tonight?” I asked as I looked at the large amount of food my mom was preparing.

“Yep, they are.” She said not breaking eye contact with her cookbook.

“By the way, you never told me who is staying with us.”

“Yeah about that Keer…” My mom was in midsentence when the sound of our doorbell cut her off. “They’re here!” She said with a smile on her face.

I followed her to the door to greet our houseguests for the next few days.

“Anne darling how are you.” My mom said greeting none other than Anne Cox aka Harry Styles mom.

I love Anne, don’t get me wrong, it was her son who I had a problem with. Anne and my mum had been best friends since high school so I saw her a lot. She was like my second mother so was thrilled that it was she was staying but then the next thing my mom said made me almost pass out.

“Oh Harry come on inside!”

Um what did my mother just say? There is no way Harry Styles is here I’m hallucinating.

Harry walked through the door and gave my mum a hug.

Stop touching her you little home wrecker.

And then he turned his head and look directly at me. I think I’m going to throw up.

“Hi Keera.” He said to me smiling with his arms opened to hug me.

“Hi Anne!” I said walking right pass him and giving Anne a hug.

Harry stood there completely dumbfounded. I tried not to start laughing at what I had just done because come on, it was pretty funny.

“Keera why don’t you help Harry bring his bags upstairs into your room since you two will be sharing for a few days.” My mum said

What did she just say?! I’m sharing a room with the one person I hate for a few days?! My mum has officially gone insane.

I couldn’t believe she was doing this to me. She knew everything that had happened between Harry and I before he left for X Factor last summer.

Harry’s going away party was in full swing and everyone was having the time of their lives. Harry and I decided to go sit on the front porch to talk for a little bit by ourselves.

Harry and I had been best friends since we were born and our mums were best friends too. I couldn’t imagine living in boring Holmes Chapel without him, but I guess I was going to have to.

He was talking to me and kept smiling so I could see his dimple, which was adorable. That dimple was going to be the reason for my death. I was falling for my best friend. No scratch that. I was in love with my best friend.

“Keer can I tell you something?” Harry asked me nervously.

“Of course you can you goof. We tell each other everything.” I said laughing a little.

“But this is really important.”

I didn’t say anything this time. I just waited for him to continue.

“Keera, I love you.” He looked like he just saw a ghost. He must’ve felt this way for a while or else he wouldn’t of been so nervous.

“I love you too Harry.”

I couldn’t believe my best friend and the kid I’ve been in love with feels the same way. I was the happiest girl in the entire world.

All of a sudden fireworks were being set off into the sky and we sat there and watched them together. Harry grabbed my hand while we watched them together and then he kissed me.

The next day I couldn’t stop crying because Harry was leaving to go fulfill his dreams of being a singer.

“I’ll call you everyday okay?” He said hugging me.

“Promise?” I said as a few more tears started streaming down my face.

“I promise.” He said holding his pinkie out to me. “I love you Keera. I’ll always be here for you.”

“I love you too Harry.”

Harry called me everyday for the first few weeks, but then his calls became less and less frequent until he just stopped calling me all together. A month later my dad got into a car crash and died instantly. Harry still never called. I tried calling him but he didn’t pick up and he never called back. The one time I truly needed him there for me he ignored me. He broke his promise.

I knew he must have been lying when he told me he loved me too. He probably only said it because it was a “live in the moment” type of thing. How could I be so stupid to fall for that?

Anyway Harry had been home a few times since then but I made sure I stayed clear of him every time. Anne always called my mum saying how Harry and I should get together but I always thought of an excuse of why I couldn’t see him or just said I was busy.

My so-called best friend for life abandoned me and forgot all about me for his stupid fruity boy band friends. But worst of all, he broke his promise and I can never forgive him for that.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why I hate Harry Edward Styles.

I grabbed one of Harry’s bags and started walking upstairs to my room. Even though I had to share my room with satin himself, I could have some fun with this. Maybe I’ll make him sleep on the hardwood floor.

“Oh sweet an air mattress.” Harry said walking into my room and placing one of his bags by the air mattress.

Damn it. I guess that idea is out the window.

I placed his other bag on the floor and turned around to leave the room.

“So you’re just going to leave me here in your room by myself? You’re not going to even say hi to your best friend?” Harry said to me.

I was going to throw my lamp at this kid.

“Well for your information you’re not my best friend. We were best friends a long time ago but not anymore.”

He sat there looking at me with a blank expression on his face. He didn’t say one word. And with that I walked out of my house to take a long walk to clear my head.
