Always Smile

This isn't your normal story. Amore was a normal girl. She fits in and always knew how to light up a room. But what people don't know is that not everything is perfect in her world... and this secret may lead to her end...

4. Count On Me

~ End of the day <3 ~

As I was putting the last of my books in my locker, April and Charlotte came up to me and shoved a paper in my face.

"What the hell is this?!" I almost yelled, mad that they had literally shoved in my face.

"Calm down," April started, "You need to write your part of the essay. Everyone else already wrote their part so it's your turn."

"Okay..." I said calming down, "What am I supposed to write?"

"Put in one of your poems, you're pretty good at writing those." Charlotte suggested.

I though about it for a second. Most of my poems were dark and made some people feel... uncomfortable. But I needed to write something.

"Okay I'll do it. See you girls tomorrow." I said walking away while waving.

"Bye!" They chorused.

I walked to my car to see Raelynn already waiting for me. I unlocked the door and we both got in. The whole ride was silent. As I pulled into her drive, she spoke up.

"I'm still not sure that we should be doing this..." She said trailing off.

"Don't worry we'll be fine" I said consoling her. She nodded and climbed out of my car.

"Bye!" she called.

"See you later." I said, already pulling out. As I parked my car in front of my house and went inside, I saw a note on the kitchen counter. It read:

Went to a job interview. Cross your fingers and wish me luck :)

I crossed my fingers and silently prayed. Then I went upstairs and set the letter down on my desk. I thought for a moment, then began writing.

What have you done to me?

A fog of betrayal as memories crawl.

Once we enjoyed innocence,

untainted and open

But your heart perished

A sickening cloud of lies-

Tears in my eyes,

Pain in my heart,

You follow darkness and hate,

Our love burnt to ashes

In a haze of bitterness.

But I still love you.

The night falls with a silent sigh, cold and alone are we,

the emotion for which you cared for me

flares once, then dies,

Swept away by your obsession.

All hope must die.

Your love is no more.

How could you abandon me?

Shadows surround us, crying,

You have lost your light.

Around, all around, the shadows gather.

My dread grows as the stroke of

Death falls against my soul.

It crushes me and my blood drips to the thirsty earth.

In a haze of shock I call your name,

While Death's shadow looms.

Now alone, my cascade of tears falls upon your uncaring eyes.

This is your love.

Satisfied, I entitled the poem Dark Love. I left the paper on my desk and went to bed, falling asleep before my head even hit the pillow.

Past trees, bushes. into a clear surrounding.

I walk up to the lake and look  in, but it is not me who looks back. It is a boy. His curls were messily placed on his head. His bright green eyes shone in the moonlight as he took steps closer. I backed away and fell into the lake, icy cold water rushing to greet me. Hands grasped at my ankle and began pulling me under. I yelled, forgetting that I was underwater, losing my air supply. Deeper, still deeper I was being pulled. Then the boy dove in and pulled me up and out of the water. I collapsed on the ground and looked up. He was gone.

I awoke with a start, gasping for air. It was the same dream as before.

But what did it mean?!?
