Surprise at the Soccer Fields

Alexis is a soccer player who loves One Direction. Who is the new coach everyone is talking about? What happens when she becomes the new coach's assistant? Will there be romance?

9. Two New Things

"Hello," The doctor said pleasantly.
"Hi!" I chirped happily. After all, I had just gotten a brand new boyfriend less than 2 minutes ago.
"So, Alexis, what will be happening is that you will have to have a cast for 6 weeks. Your break isn't very bad, but it's best to have a cast just to make sure everything feels better," the doctor said.
"Okay," I said. I couldn't play soccer or swim, but it was only for six weeks.
"So, what color?" the doctor asked jokingly.
"I was thinking neon yellow," I said, chuckling at Louis' silly request.
"Alright then. I'll go get the nurse, and she'll get you all wrapped up," he said. "Have a good day," he added, leaving the room. About 10 seconds later a nurse who looked to be in about her mid-twenties popped in.
"Hi Alexis! I'm Samantha" she said in a sweet tone.
"Hi!" I chirped back.
"So, Dr. Bartlett said that you just have a hairline fracture in your ankle. It isn't very serious, so you'll have a cast for six weeks, then most likely a boot for just another week," Samantha explained.
"Okay, cool," I said.
"So, what I've heard was yellow, right?" Samantha asked, winking.
"Yeah, that's what our friend wanted me to get," I said, gesturing to Niall.
"Let me guess, Louis?" Samantha asked, smiling.
"Uh, yeah. How'd you know?" Niall asked, somewhat amused.
"Well, my little sister's a fan of you guys, and she's always talking about you all, so I figured Louis would be the one to suggest something like that," she explained.
"Ha, well, that's a good explanation," Niall said. "How old is she?" he asked.
"Nineteen," Samantha answered, looking at the chart.
"So are we," I said. We smiled at each other. My boyfriend! I know, I'm so cliche.
"So are you two...?" Samantha asked.
"Actually, yes, we just started dating like 10 minutes ago," Niall said, cracking a smile.
"Congratulations, guys!" Samantha said. "Don't worry, I won't tell," she said truthfully. "Well, the longer, you leg is out of that cast, the longer it's in it. I'll go get the plaster ready," she said, leaving the room and closing the door.

"So, where were we?" Niall asked.
"I believe I just accepted your request of being my boyfriend," I said, winking at him. Then our heads leane towards each other, and I felt fireworks. Like I said before, I'm cliche. But it's true! We pulled away and just looked at each other.
"I love you," we both breathe at the same time, then laughed together.

"I love how you're a fan, and you didn freak out whatsoever when we first met," he said.
"And I love how when we met you weren't just Niall Horan, the world-famous Irish one in a boyband, but Niall, just a guy helping with soccer practice, on vacation with friends," I said.
"Thanks, that means a lot," he said, smiling that smile of his. But our first moment was ruined a few minutes later when Samantha opened the door, crutches in one hand, and a bowl of plaster and gauze in the other.

"You ready?" she asked teasingly. I smiled.
"Yep," I said.
"Okay, then. I'll need you to get on the table," she said, setting t he things on one end of it. I looked at Niall. He smiled and lifted me up onto the paper-lined table.
"Thanks," I muttered.
"Now, Niall, would you mind holding her leg, because it's painful for her to hold it up on he own," Samantha said.
"Sure," Ni said, gently pulling up my leg. He made a face. "Geez, Lex, your feet stink!" he said.
"I was wearing YOUR cleats, genius," I said, sticking my tongue out at him.
"Fair enough," he muttered. I put a smug look on my face. The Samantha began wrapping my leg with the plaster. I just kind of sat and waited, bored. She was soon done, though.

"Okay, all done. Now, you can't get it wet, so no showering with it on, and no swimming," she said.
"Okay," I said.
"So, here are your crutches," she said, handing them to me. They were the perfect height. "And I'll send a prescription down to the pharmacy for you to pick up for the pain," she said, opening the door for me. She led Niall and I back to the waiting room, where she spoke to my parents. My mother went to go sign some papers, while Dad took Niall and I to the car. Niall lifted me into it again, and climbed in behind me.

"So, Lexi, interesting color choice," my dad said, looking at me through the rear view mirror.

"Yeah, I was thinking about yellow, but Niall's friend, Louis sealed the deal," I explained, smiling at Niall. Dad caught it.

"Are you two dating?" he asked. I wasn't sure if he was joking or not. But he was usually pretty mellow about things like this.
"Uh, kind of, yeah," I answered. He turned around.
"Excelent choice, Mr. Niall," he said, high-fiving Niall.
"Thanks, Mr. Cooper!" said Niall. "Is it alright?" he asked uncertainly.
"Of course! You and Greg are good boys. It's completely fine with me," Dad said. Sweet. Just then Mom got in the car.

"Hi, everyone. Lexi, you forgot the prescription, but I got it," she said.
"Okay, thanks," I said, leaning into Niall. Mom looked at us through the rear view mirror. She looked at Dad, then back at me and winked.
"Do we have a little lovebird couple back there?" she asked Dad, but loud enough for us to hear.
"Indeed we do," Dad replied in a silly manner.
"Alrighty then. You two make a cute couple," she said. I blushed.
"Thanks, Mom," I mumbled. The rest of the ride was silent. When we got to our houses, Niall helped me out of the car, yet again.

"Where would you like to go?" Niall asked me.
"I think I'll just stay home for the rest of they day. You guys go do something fun," I said.
"Okay, you rest. And here's your phone," he said, pulling out my iPhone from his pocket. "And I put all of our numbers in there," he added, referring to the boys.
"Thanks, Ni. I love you," I said, hugging him.
"I love you too," he said. Then I realized something.
"Hey, Nialler, I think I need help getting to my room, too," I said, smiling a wide smile.
"C'mon," he said, lifting me up bridal style. My mom held the front door open while I directed him to my room. He set me down on my bed and looked around.
"Nice room," he said. "I really like the One Direction poster," he said, laughing as he pointed goths big poster above my desk. I had completely forgotten about that. Oops oh well. I began to feel tired.
"Thanks," I said, yawning. "I'm about to crash," I said, laying down.
"Okay, get some rest," he said, turning to leave.
"Wait, Niall," I said. He turned back around. "I might have broken my leg, but I got two new things. A cast, and a wonderful, perfect, adorable, handsome boyfriend named Niall Horan," I said, and then fell completely asleep.
