17. Oh my gosh

We drove for a while along an amazingly empty road. It was like it was just the two of us in the whole wide world. Alone together. hmmm.

I felt so special and yet, something felt, wrong. Something felt off, like there was something missing, or someone. I couldn't help but feel guilty, I mean, this guy was taking me on a date. My first date. I felt so ungrateful.

After a while the silence just started to get awkward. I didn't know what to do or what to say. I noticed Lucas' hand slowly moving in my direction. Holy Frick what was he doing?? Was he gonna put his hand on my thigh? I sat there having a minor heart attack but luckily his hand went

past and over my thigh and to the glove box.

It was weird. I almost felt slightly....disappointed. Wait what? I told myself to snap out of it. No way did I want his sweaty hand rubbing my thigh....or did I....NO!

Lucas pulled out a CD and put it in the player. I was totally surprised to hear that the first song that it played was "I get around" by the Beach Boys. I stifled a small laugh and before I could help myself I started singing along.

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
Im a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
Im makin real good bread

I got only so far when I noticed that Lucas was laughing at me for knowing all the Lyrics. I pouted at him and he stuck his tongue out at me. I continued singing but this time, he joined in.

Im gettin bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta finda new place where the kids are hip

My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
Im a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
Im makin real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Get around round round oooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo

We always take my car cause it's never been beat
And weve never missed yet with the girls we meet

None of the guys go steady cause it wouldn't be right
To leave their best girl home now on saturday night

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
Im a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
Im makin real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
Get around round round I get around
Wah wa ooo
Get around round round I get around
Oooo ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo

By the end of the song both of us were trying to contain absolute fits of laughter. It was just too funny. The next song was "Say something" by A great big world. Obviously he sang the guy part and as I sat there listening to him I thought what a great time I was having already, and how we hadn't even technically started the date yet!

Our destination ended up being an exclusive little restaurant near the seaside. It took a good hour to get there and I was starving. Lucas got out of the car and opened my door - gentleman much - he took my arm and led me inside. I tried to look at anything but him in an effort to hide my blushing on account of his arm touching mine.

Inside we were greeted by a waiter with a funny little moustache and a french accent.

"Ah yes, right zis way mister, uh" He looked down at the board he was carrying " Mister Miller. Just follow me please.... zis is your table."

"Thanks" Lucas said, confidently, whilst I mumble 'thank you' meekly under my breath.

Thats when I turned to look out the window at the view.

"Oh, My, GOSH!"
