Just a Coincidence

"Maddi O'Neill!" Greg replied, smiling.

"Greg?" Maddi stood still.

"Yes" he grinned.

"Greg Horan?"

"Yes" he chuckled.

"Holy shit! I am so so sorry! I didn't mean to be rude! Oh my god! It's been ages!" Maddi gushed out, with excitement and anxiousness at the same time.

"I know! It's so good to see you! I'm so sorry that I was so rude to you! I've been having a really rough day, well, more like week." Greg replied, getting up from his seat. He walked over to Maddi and gave her a huge hug. "How have you been love?" He smiled.

"Fine. Kinda. Ok-ish." Maddi sighed, looking around to see if any customers were waiting.

"Look, I can see that your busy. Wanna catch up later? It's been awhile since I've seen my little bro's bestie!" Greg smiled and pulled out a card. "That's my number- give me a call when your off work." He murmured, motioning Maddi to take the card.

Maddi nodded and swiftly put the card in the front pocket of her jeans. "It's good to see you Greg." she smiled, hugging him again.

"You too Madz." He looked up at the clock on the wall and noticed the time. "Oh shoot. Sorry love. I gotta run. Remember to call me whenever." He said, picking up his wallet and exiting the cafe, leaving Maddi standing there. She smiled. At least she now had someone here to talk to whenever she needed it. Someone who she knew really well and was really close to her. Maddi returned back to work, taking orders and making coffees. Greg had really cheered her up and she soon realised that her new job wasn't as bad as she had thought. All the people who worked there were really nice and she found herself becoming closer friends with Erica. It took awhile but Ireland was growing on her once again.

****************A couple of days later********************

Maddi was in the middle of finishing off writing down an order when she noticed another customer approach the counter. With her head still down and writing she said, "Hi, I'm Maddi. How can I help you?"

"Oh Australian. Cute but slow. I want my Malteasers back please."

Maddi looked up to the smirking face greeting hers. She groaned in annoyance. Even the mere thought of this guy pissed Maddi off. He was too... Irish?

"Well bad luck- they're in my tummy." Maddi smirked lightly tapping her belly, "I would give them back but I have a strict rule against sharing my food."

"It was my food to begin with! If you weren't so bloody fit, they would of been in my stomach instead of yours!" he said.

Maddi giggled and looked at him curiously.

"You think I'm hot?" Maddi growled seductively, watching the blood rise up into the mystery man's cheeks.

"See! Just like that! Stop doing that!" He whispered roughly, his cheeks flaring bright red.

"Doing what? I don't even know your name.." Maddi asked innocently, smiling at him.

Maddi frowned when she saw Niall shake his head.

"Look, I don't tell arrogant, selfish bitches my name- you wouldn't want to know anyway." Niall spitted out harshly and turned his back to Maddi and strode out the door, cursing under his breath.

Maddi was confused. How could a situation turn so bad so quickly? How could he call her a bitch and an arrogant one of that? She scribbled hardly on her notepad and blocked out the replay of events that were happening in her head.

"Maddi!" Someone yelled from the kitchen out the back

Maddi snapped out of her daze and focused on forming words out of her mouth.

"Yeh?!" She bellowed from the counter, making people snap their attention from their books to the origin of the noise.

"Your shift is over! Your free to go!"

"Thanks!" she yelled and bolted out of the door.

She yanked out her phone and the little paper card hiding snugly in her pocket. Her fingers glided across her phone screen and she lifted the phone to her ear.

"Ah yeh, Greg, it's Maddi. Wanna catch up?"

Greg had cheered Maddi up the first time, why not the second?
