3. Eleanor ~ Two.

I arrived to the room that the man at the check-in desk said was my room. I look at the brown wooden door in the middle of the hallway where other first class suites were located. The hallway was dimly lit with light bulbs in glass covers on the wall. The walls of the hallways were painted an emerald green with a flower pattern on top. The walls also had a golden painted railing for times of high tides. The floors are covered with a burgundy rug.  I turn back to the door and place the key in the key whole above the golden knob and open the door.

I open the door which welcomes me to a new room. I see a glass window which leads to a small balcony where the ocean is visible. The ground of the suite is covered with a soft violet carpet with a small dotted design. The walls covered with a light maroon shade. A little behind the balcony was a black baby piano. I walk to the second room to find Emilia, my maid and dearest friend placing my clothes in the mahogany drawers in what seems to be my bedroom.

Emilia looks up to me and smiles. She's a year younger than I am and have been serving my family ever since I was 5. She has been the closest friend other than the other young ladies who were daughters of other wealthy families. Of course none of my other friends know about Emilia. That would utterly unpropitious and embarrassing.

Emilia was a gorgeous girl. She had red hair that was always in a bun. She was in her uniform which consisted of a long-sleeve floor-length black dress with a white apron.  Her rouge hair frames her fair face. She has gleaming emerald eyes. She looked like a princess from a fairy tale story, that worked for my family. She always called me Miss Eleanor in front of my father and Florence, but when it's only us two I'm simply Ellie or Eleanor.

"Eleanor! You're late! Your dinner begins at 8pm. You have to prepare!" Emilia says quickly running to the closet while opening the doors and taking out a white and red dining dress. She places it on my Queen bed carefully without wrinkling it. "Emilia! Relax and breathe. The dinner doesn't begin in nearly 2 hours," I say to Emilia while grabbing to her shoulders.

Emilia takes a deep breath relaxing herself. She takes a seat next to my beautiful lacey long dress. I take a seat on the other side of the dress on the bed. "Excuse me for being so rushed, Eleanor" Emilia says calmly. I shake my head and take my purple hat off my head. "That's fine," I say back. I rub my fingertips on the design of the dress. I then remember of my encounter with Louis. My eyes shoot to Emilia and I say, "I must tell you about what occurred to me when I was on the top deck!"

I grab my friend's hands and begin to tell about meeting Louis. Emilia's face brightens up as I describe his handsome features of an angular jaw and those stunning blue eyes. I finish with the fact that he snuck on from a bet from his friend, Harold.

At the end of the story, Emilia looks at me and says, "You're telling me this story when you're going to meet the person you're going to be with for the rest of your life tonight! Ellie, no matter how much he appeals to you, you can't be with him from the fact that Mr. Calder and Miss Florence won't approve." I shrug my shoulders and say, "I know I won't even see him again. It's too improbable." I sigh and turn to my friend, "I think that we should begin preparing me for the dinner." Emilia nods, gets my night corset and jewelry.

We spend the next two hours preparing myself for the dinner. My stomach aches on how tight Emilia places the corset on me. I have been these corsets ever since I was 10 years old, but I still can't get accustomed to it. Probably because I always took it off whenever I had the chance. Emilia did my facial make-up giving me bold red lips with the rare lip stick tube I got for my last birthday which also included this new type of make-up called 'mascara' from a new brand named Maybelline. These rose your eye lashes which made them thicker and longer. Emilia and I are still stunned by this new product. My hair was pulled back on an elegant curly bun. Emilia placed a matching peacock feather to the side of the styling of my hair.

When I was finally ready I took a look at the long mirror at the corner of my bedroom. I never try to be humble when it comes to my looks. I looked spectacular. I smiled at my own figure as it smiled at me back. Emilia gave me a hug and warm good luck on meeting, Charles Graham, my fiancé. I walk out of my bedroom and walk my way toward the First Class Dining Hall.
