5. The Perfect Night

Juliet’s POV

When Dee and I arrived back at our apartment we noticed that the rest of our things had indeed gotten delivered, so we spent the afternoon unpacking everything. I was pretty distracted the entire time though, considering that night I had a date with Harry, which I was very much looking forward to. I had quit referring to him Harry Styles from One Direction, because last night had showed me that he was really just a regular guy. He was really easy to talk to, and knew how to make me laugh, which I absolutely loved. At this point I didn’t even care if he was in a world famous band, I really just wanted to get to know him better, and to spend more time with him.

I guess I had let the time get away from me because when I was finished with one of the many boxes I was unpacking and looked up at the clock it was already six. Shit! I thought I still had to shower and get ready!

“Dee! Finish unpacking without me, I got to get ready or I’m going to be late!” I yelled across the hall so she could hear me.

            “OK!” she yelled back.

I hurried into the bathroom, taking a very quick shower and blow drying my hair so it would form its natural, soft curls. I put on from fitting black, long sleeved dress and some purple heels. I finished the outfit off with jewelry and put some makeup on to play up my best features. I must say, I thought that I looked pretty great, considering I just about never dressed nice.

I checked the time after I was done getting ready, it was about 6:55, Harry could be here at any minute now, and I was getting more and more anxious.

“Damn girl,” Dee said as I walked into the living room, “Someone is trying to impress a boy.”

“Oh shut up he told me to dress nice,” I replied.

“No, I like it. It’s kind of saying “I got a great body, but I’m not going to flaunt it to the whole entire world.” It’ll leave him wanting more,” She said winking.

“Oh Dee shut up, you know I’d never do something like that on a first date,” I said.

“Who knows, this is Harry Styles we’re talking bout here.” She said raising her eyebrows up at me.

Just as she said this I heard a knock at the door of our apartment. My heart started to race with excitement, he was finally here. I tried my best not to practically run to the door, and when I opened it, there he was standing, looking gorgeous as usual. He was wearing a classic Harry outfit, simple grey blazer with a white button up shirt underneath, and dark wash jeans. It was so simple, but he wore it so well. I could also smell his aftershave, which I could’ve bottled up right there it smelled so good.

“Wow,” Harry said as I opened the door, “You look……great.”

I blushed a bit as he said this, “I don’t even get a proper hello?” I said jokingly.

He laughed a bit, “Hello Juliet.”

            “Hello Harry,” I returned.

“Are you ready to go?” he asked.

            “Of course,” I smiled.

“You kids be safe now!” Dee yelled from the living room. “I don’t need any shenanigans!”

“Oh Dee shut up!” I yelled back, “I’ll be back around eleven!”

Harry was laughing as I shut the door behind me, “You two seem to get along.” He said.

I chuckled a bit, “That’s just how we are with each other, pretty much all of our conversations consist in yelling.” I said.

He laughed again, “Well let’s get going, I got reservations for us.”

The drive to the restaurant was a bit quiet, but not in an awkward way. Harry had some music playing quietly on the way there, and I could hear him cheerfully humming along. When we pulled in front of the restaurant however, there was quite a bit of paparazzi around, like they knew we were coming.

“Shit,” I heard Harry mumble under his breath, “How do they always find me.”

He pulled away a went around to the back entrance, but just as he was about to get out I stopped him.

            “Harry wait,” I said.

He looked up at me, “What is it?” he asked.

“Do you really want to eat here?” I asked.

“What do you mean?” he replied.

“Like, do really want to go into a fancy restaurant, where we can barely have a conversation because we have to be quiet, will pay way too much for barely any food, and where a bunch of people can invade out privacy?” I said.

“Um, well, no not really,” he answered.

“Then why’d you take me here?” I asked.

“Honestly,” he said, “I thought that you’d be impressed.”

“Trust me Harry, the last thing you need to worry about is impressing me,” I said, “I would honestly be completely fine with getting fast food and sitting on the hood of car eating it. We’d definitely be able to have a much better conversation, and no one could bother us if they don’t know where we are.”

“That actually sound ten times better then what I was planning on doing.” He said, you that you keep getting even better by the minute?” I blushed a bit at this too, smiling.

So Harry and I ended up getting burgers and driving down to the river, near the Eye, where you could see all of London. We took off our shoes and laid on the hood of his car and ate our food. The whole entire time we were talking and laughing hysterically, it was absolutely perfect. I didn’t need fancy restaurants or nice things to make me happy, all I needed was the right person, which I believed I had found. Because to me having a good laugh with some you like is the best thing in the world.

We sat there for about an hour talking until it got dark.

“Come on, we’re going on the Eye,” he said as he got up.

“Um, ok, but I’ll warn you I’m a bit afraid of heights,” I said getting a bit nervous.

“Oh it’ll be fine, don’t worry I’ll be right there with you,” he said smiling.

We got unto the huge Farris wheel, as I started to go up I felt my stomach tie into knots. Harry must have sensed this because he went up behind me, and wrapped his arms around my waist, which quickly comforted me. As we reached the very top, I looked out across all of London, it was absolutely breathtaking at night.

“Wow,” I said, “It’s beautiful.

“I know,” he said, “But not as beautiful as you.”

I chuckled a bit, “You are so cheesy,” I said.

“Yeah, but you know you love it,” he replied.

“Maybe a little,” I said, turning around to face him.

He still had his arms wrapped around my waist. He pulled me in a bit closer so that our faces were only inches apart and slowing leaned in, his lips touching mine. The kiss was soft, sweet, and loving. It wasn’t full of lust like I had almost expected, and as he pulled away, almost too soon, I huge grin spread across my face.

“I had a wonderful time tonight,” he smiling.

“Me too,” I replied, the grin still plastered on my face.

“I really hope we can do this again sometime,” he said.

“You can count on that,” I replied.

And with that he kissed me one last time, the same as the last. It was a great end to the perfect night.
