The Hatred to His Love

Merlin was a young sorcerer, working as a servant of Prince Arthur and living with the Court Physician, Gaius. But his destiny was to help the Prince return Magic to the Kingdom; without getting himself killed for being a sorcerer that is. Morgana was the King's ward and she too wanted to bring back magic into Camelot. But her hatred for the magic-hating King had pushed her towards dark arts. Though their goal was the same, can their paths ever meet? Read more to find out. :)

6. Disappointments

Morgana’s voice echoed all around the castle. Merlin had just been on his way to bed after finishing his last chores, when he heard it. He had rushed to her room, but Uther and Gaius were already there. He hid till they had all gone before going to her room himself.

“Go away. I’m okay.” came Morgana’s voice when he knocked.

“Morgana it’s me, Merlin.” She immediately threw open the door and pulled him inside.

“Merlin, thank god it’s just you. I thought Uther might have sent some guards after all.” She looked bloodless and never before had he seen traces of fear in her eyes. It was a more than a little worrying. He really needed to talk to Gaius about Morgana’s nightmares.

“What happened?” He asked, as calmly as possible.

“I had nightmares again Merlin. Horrible nightmares; Arthur was drowned in a lake. A girl made asks him to go to the centre of the lake, and he does it even though he can see that it’s very deep. You know he can swim, but he doesn’t even tries to save himself.” She held my hand in hers as though drawing strength from mine.

“I’m confused. My nightmares come to be true. Always! Why Merlin? Why just me? Do I have magic? Is that it?” if she had fear in her eyes before it was nothing compared to what had replaced it; pure terror. Though he had his suspicions he wouldn’t tell her just yet. He might be wrong. He even hoped he was wrong, for her sake.

“I don’t know Morgana” he said instead, and saw her eyes cloud with disappointment. He had disappointed her.

In just a few weeks her vision would come true, he would be proved right.
