The Hatred to His Love

Merlin was a young sorcerer, working as a servant of Prince Arthur and living with the Court Physician, Gaius. But his destiny was to help the Prince return Magic to the Kingdom; without getting himself killed for being a sorcerer that is. Morgana was the King's ward and she too wanted to bring back magic into Camelot. But her hatred for the magic-hating King had pushed her towards dark arts. Though their goal was the same, can their paths ever meet? Read more to find out. :)

1. New Revelations

From behind the wine barrels, Morgause could make out the features two persons walking up the streets; one was muscular with a short, blonde hair that stuck out like porcupine needles. The other was a skinny, gawky guy with a spring to his steps. His dark hair was soft and a bit wavy. They had their backs to her, but she didn’t need to see their faces to tell that while the former had brown eyes, the latter had striking blue eyes that could make anyone believe his innocence.

The whole town stole glances at them as they passed by. The blonde mainly, because he was their prince, Arthur Pendragon, but the other because no one in this small town had ever seen a manservant treated like an equal by the prince. Nor had anyone seen a manservant being so openly playful with a royalty.

She knew all about their friendship. It was beyond normal. But it was also a weakness. His bond with the servant boy could be used against the prince to lure him out of Camelot and take Camelot out during his absence.

Suddenly a group of bandits attacked the town and everybody on the streets ran to safety. Some hid inside their homes and blotted the doors while some like me, hid behind barrels and other such thing on the streets. Everybody except Arthur that is. He was never the one to back down from a fight.

While Arthur had counter attacked, his servant hid behind one of the trees.

So this was Arthur’s most loyal friend. Huh! Pathetic coward, hiding instead of fighting!

She had almost turned her back when she say a pair of blue eyes flash to gold, a near-by bandit somehow tripped over a small stone that had somehow rose an inch in air just when the man had been about to step on it.

Magic! The Servant was a sorcerer. And a powerful one at that! He didn’t even have to utter spells to perform magic. So that’s how he had been thwarting her plans in the past. The traitor! She fought to bring magic back to this kingdom and he dares use it to save the skin of the oppressor of magic; save Uther Pendragon. Well, now this is going to get interesting.

No! Merlin can’t be a traitor. He was the most truthful and loyal person she has ever seen. Hell, that was the main reasons that she hated him. His frustrating loyalty towards Arthur.

She didn’t want to think of him that way. For some reason, she didn’t like the thought of him having magic. It had hurt that he had tried to kill her just to save his precious friend’s father. It had hurt her to see that even he; her most loyal friend had gone against her.

But she can use this chance now. Chance to bring him to the right side. Bring him to her side. They didn’t have to be enemies anymore.

That thought comforted her and brought peace to the storm in her mind.
