Dare To Dream

Christina's always dreamed of being a famous singer. Her agent gets her an audition with one of the biggest Boy Bands of the Century, One Direction. They are looking for a girl to sing with them for their new love song. She goes to the audition expecting to be nervous, but she never expects to fall in love with one of the band members. She also didn't expect to get the part and have to move down to London with them for a few months. Get ready for drama and romance in my fanfic, Dare To Dream :)

2. The Audition Part 2

(Liam’s POV)

We’d just flown into NY from L.A. Things were chaotic but we managed to get to the studio in one piece. That day was the day when we auditioned specially talented females for a harmony part in our new love song. I know what you’re thinking. Probably that there was millions of girls lined up to audition? Well, you’re wrong. Our manager told us to keep it on the DL so it was a “secret’ audition. Only people who worked in the Arts business knew about it. But we were happy with the turn out.

We went in through the back door. I walked in and loved the look of the room already. It was elegant in a modern way. It kind of reminded me of my house. There was a mahogany table close to the wall on one side and a small wooden stage about 100 feet in front of it. We filed into the black, soft, rolling chairs that sat behind the table and in front of us was 167 sheets of paper, each. They were review sheets on every girl we’d be auditioning.

“Well, this is going to be a piece of cake...” Harry says as he flipped through the review sheets. I, myself took a little peek and saw this picture of an extremely beautiful girl. Dark brown eyes, light brown hair, and light skin that looked exquisite. She had long, black eyelashes and rosy-pink colored cheeks. Her lips were a soft pink and shiny. I wanted to stare at her all day.

“Okay guys, here’s you first audition, coming in.” The director of the event informed us. I quickly looked at the top and saw her number. Forty-six. ‘Damn.’ I thought. ‘I gotta wait through 45 other people until I see her.’

The auditions grew longer. I looked at the clock. 12:46. We’ve been here since 8 and we were only on number 41. I kept growing more and more anxious and with every new audition, I grew more bored. But soon enough, it was number 46’s turn. My palms grew sweaty. ‘Play it cool.. Just play it cool.’

I heard the door open, then,  I saw her walk in, onto the stage. “ Aww, She’s adorable!” Louis said with a smile. I started to get annoyed when he said, “What’s your name, love?”

“Christina.” She said, with a little hesitation. Christina. Such a wonderful name for such a beautiful girl.

“That’s a lovely name.” Niall said. We all started our inspections. Looking at her style, her personality, taking notes on what she looks like; things like that.

I wrote: Short, skinny, good style, beautiful eyes, shiny hair, cute nose, perfect smile, great complexion...

“So, where are you from, Christina?” Harry asked.

“New Jersey.”

“Are you excited to be here?” Zayn followed.

“More than excited; honored! I’m one of your biggest fans, you guys mean the world to me and I can’t believe I have the privilege of standing here in front of you right now, so thank you.” She said, smiling the whole time. ‘Gosh, you’re perfect.’ I think I’m falling in love!

“I like you already!” Louis chirped.

“Stop drooling Louis,” I nudged him then returned back to Christina. “Let’s hear what you’ve got. I’ll sing the male part and you go ahead and do the female part.” I got up and walked over to her. “ Do you need the lyrics?” I asked, looking down at her gorgeous face.

“ Nope. I got this.” She said with a cute giggle. Impressive. She already knows her stuff.

Then we began singing. As if I hadn’t already loved the song - she made it 10 times better! It was just the way the notes swooped and intertwined. Like bunches of music, swirling together to make a plait. Her voice was extraordinarily extravagant! It was like God sent her to me because our voices paired up so perfectly.  I began to start understanding the lyrics, and I think so did she, because at the same point in the song, we turned to each other and looked into the other’s eyes. But too soon, it ended, and the final note was finished. We stood there staring at each other for a while and I decided to break the awkward silence.

“Hi, I’m Liam.” I extended my hand.

She smiled. “I’m Christina” She grabbed my hand and shook it.

Okay you two love birds, quit canoodling each other and lets talk.” Niall said. The other boys laughed.

“Well obviously , Niall, you don’t know what ‘canoodling’ means because we weren’t canoodling. We were...” I struggled to find the correct term, “... exchanging friendly glances.”

“Okay, Cupid. Anyway, Christina, you have an amazing voice! It blends well with Liam’s voice for the song and I believe that with our harmony mixed in, everything would sound absolutely fantastic.” Harry explained.

“My turn.” Louis interrupted. “I agree with Harold, you might just be what we’re looking for.”

“Especially with that last note.” Niall added.

Zayn nodded, “Yes.”

“I really  enjoyed singing with you, you have a nice tone to your voice that was easy to mix with. You did a great job.”I said as I stared into her deep brown eyes and bit my lip, blushing a little.

“ Thank you so much for this guys! It means a lot that you said that stuff about my singing. I hope I hear from you guys soon.” She waved a little then headed towards the door.

“Us too!” we all shouted.

“Try not to forget us!” I called to her.

“As long as you guys don’t forget me.” She smiled, and with that, she was gone.I sank back into my seat.

“What just happened?” Harry asked me.

“I think I just fell in love.”
