6. Chapter 6

Something my friends never knew I had in me was that I am a pretty good detective. (the pretty goes both ways) I looked around the parking lot which was a lot easier to do since the sky was bright and sunny again. Oddly enough I found a green footprint left the back of the trailer. I followed them closely. They lead into an abandoned McDonald’s. The trees around the place were all dead and were only sticks left. Even the sky above the property was dark and rainy. It was odd because you could have one foot inside the sunshine and one inside the rainy side.

Nevertheless, I walked slowly into the lot. I opened the creaky door cautiously. Dust flew out of the room and into my mouth causing me to cough. The place is filled with spider webs and bats. The floor was covered in green gooey sludge and the walls had dry blood all over them. A chill went up my spine. I was second guessing what I did. I felt something crawl up my leg. I screamed and saw that a giant spider was on it. I jumped around and threw it off my leg. I ended up jumping into the sludge. I tried to pull myself out but I couldn’t. I was stuck.

“What a waste! I didn’t even find them!” I shouted. Just then the sludge started pulling me against the wall. “This is nasty,” I mutter. “You don’t think I am not grossed out,” I heard a voice on my left say. I started screaming. “Relax, I get that a lot,” the voice mentioned after I had finished screaming. I turned my head to see who it was. It was a tall light brown haired and blue eyed boy. I recognized who it was. It was Samuel, my boyfriend from the States. “Samuel?” I questioned. “Makenzie?” he questioned back looking at my face too. “What are you doing here?” I asked him. “Well if you haven’t noticed, I am not actually a cashier at Publix,” Samuel responded. “So you are a spy?” I asked as my face lighten up. “More or less,” he answered winking.

“You always did like surprises and secrets,” I replied smiling. “So why are you here, dear?” Samuel asked. “Looking for some…. Friends,” I answered thinking it through a little. “Who do you know in London?” Samuel questioned me giving me an odd face. “People. Have you by any chance seen 5 girls about my age or a few years old?” I questioned. “Actually, I have,” he answered. “Yes! Where?” I exclaimed. “There are in the under room,” Samuel informed pointing downward. “How do we get there?” I questioned. “That’s the problem. I have been here for like a week or so trying to get into that room. You see, my enemy is there,” Samuel explained. “Great. Lia.. my friends will kill me,” I caught myself. If Samuel knew that I knew One Direction he would kill them and me so it was better for him not to know. “If he doesn’t kill you first,” Samuel added. “Even better,” I stated sarcastically fake smiling.

Suddenly, there was a booming underneath my feet. It felt like an earthquake. “He is here,” Samuel mentioned licking his lips. It pounded and shook everything. I was shaking in my sludge covered shoes.
