8. Mean Girls, Cute Outfits, and Pretty Boys

The next week I don't hear from Louis too much, so I figure he got the hint that he doesn't have to be my pity friend.
A part of me is glad that he doesn't have to suffer and I don't have to feel guilty for wasting his time, but another part of me wishes we could spend more time together.
He seems like a really decent guy, and I'm grateful for his attempt at making me feel good. But I still want to spend more time with Niall.
There's just something about him. The first day we met at the autograph signing, one look from him gave me butterflies.
Now I just want to see him again.
Skyler knows how I feel, and she wants to get us together.
But he's always busy with his other friends.
One night, Skyler and I decide to have a girls night. We get in our comfiest pajamas, make ice cream sundaes, and curl up in front of the television with one of our favorites, Mean Girls.
When we're halfway through the movie, we hear a knock on the door.
"Who could that be?" Skyler says as she stands up to answer the door. I can tell she's a little scared.
She opens the door to a sex-God lookalike Harry, in dark jeans matched with a white t shirt and navy blue blazer, leaning against the door frame.
Behind him, I can barely make out a head of blonde hair. My jaw drops. My stomach tightens.
"Hey babe," Harry says to Skyler, then gives her a peck on the cheek. He looks her up and down, "You look cute."
She blushes, and grins from ear to ear, "What are you doing here?"
"I wanna take you out," he says, "I missed you."
"I missed you too," she says shyly.
I can't get over how adorable they are.
Harry walks in the door and sits on the couch.
"We could just watch a movie all together."
Oh," I can tell she struggles to say this, "well we wanted to just have a girls night."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Harry says instantly, "You're right, I should've called first."
"Skyler," I tell her, "It's okay if you want to go out. I understand."
Who am I to not let her go on a date with Harry Styles? I mean, sure they're almost official, but it's still Harry Styles.
She seems really hesitant, but she's known me long enough to know when I'm sincere.
"Okay," she says to Harry, "Just let me get dressed."
She bounds up the stairs gleefully.
"Well, ugh," Harry says, "I was hoping  you would come too Amanda. I brought Niall."
I almost forgot he was there, but looking at him again brings back all the old feelings.
He looks extremely dashing, in lightly colored jeans with a white t shirt and red snapback. His beautiful blue eyes wander around the room aimlessly, and when they finally reach mine, he drops his gaze. He doesn't want to be here. I can tell just by looking at him.
I turn to Harry, "Another one forced into a double date? Gee Harry, you're on a roll."
Harry looks slightly uncomfortable, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"Not forced, just persuaded. Except Louis, he really wanted to-"
"All ready!" Skyler says excitedly as she descends the stairs.
She looks amazing, in a navy blue pencil skirt with a cream colored frilly blouse and matching flats.
"Are you going to come too Amanda?" Harry asks.
I can tell he's really trying to make this right, and I'd hate to disappoint those pretty green eyes of his.
"Yeah, just let me get dressed real quick."
I go upstairs, and Skyler follows me to help me pick out my outfit.
We finally pick out a light blue shirt with little white flowers all over it, with white jean capris and little blue Sperrys.
As we start to leave the room, Skyler whispers in my ear, "I told you I'd get you together!"
When we almost reach the stairs, she turns to me, "Oh wait, I forgot a purse. I'll meet you downstairs."
On my way down, I can hear the boys's voices, which makes me stop to listen.
"C'mon Ni, it's just one date."
"But I already told you I'm not interested."
"She's a great gal; we're gonna have fun."
"Oh please, you know I can do much better."
"You barely know her!"
"We should be dating models Haz, not these average American girls. The girl I'm interested in isn't like these girls. She's an actress."
"I found it!" Skyler yells from behind me, "Here, I got you one too."
She hands me a purse that matches my outfit and we make it down the stairs.
I would rather die than have to face that pretty blonde boy.
