49. Discovered Love, Uncovered Love

Louis and I are walking, holding hands.
Walking down a road, no, a beach, laughing together.
Suddenly, he stops, and I turn with yearning eyes to see what's wrong.
He gives me a gentle smile and drops to one knee.
I let out a small gasp, but before I get too panicked, he lets himself fall completely to the sand.
I look down at him lying there, and while I'm caught up in the moment, he sweeps my feet out from under me and I fall on my back beside him.
I start giggling wildly, and he joins in with my laughter as he pulls me closer to him.
I cuddle my face into his chest.
He strokes my hair with one hand while his other hand intertwines with mine, and our fingers play in unison with each other.
We both look down at our dancing hands, then at each other.
I sit up, and Louis is right up beside me, rubbing my back.
"What wrong, darling?"
"I'm just really unsure," I say, "I thought I was in love with Niall."
"Things change, people change."
And with that, he gently pushes my shoulders back onto the sand.
He bends over me, his body blocking all sunlight.
His blue eyes refuse to sparkle in the lack of light, but his glowing smile makes up for it.
He leans closer to me, our lips barely touching.
"I love you," he whispers into my lips.
"I love y-" he cuts me off with a deep kiss, his one hand behind my head and his other on my waist.
I grab a handful of his hair on the back of his head and follow his lead in the kiss.
We kiss passionately and deeply and longingly, our tongues gliding across each other, our bodies hot from the beach and from the kiss.
I'm in love with him.
He's everything I've ever wanted.
And then- I'm awake.
I'm awake on the bathroom floor backstage.
Louis is holding me, and when I look up to see him, I notice he's asleep.
His dried tears stain his cheek, and my dream must've given me new courage, because I perch myself up.
I try not to wake him, leaning closer to him.
All of my kisses with him I've been distracted, guarded.
I'd like one kiss where I actually consider it having meaning.
I stop an inch from his face, looking back and forth between his lips and his sleeping eyes.
I press my lips against his, very gently at first.
But then I feel pressure, and I realize he is kissing me back.
He's kissing me, and it's just like in my dream.
My stomach fills with butterflies and my heart fills with sadness and yearning.
I allow myself to lay back, and by the back of his head, I pull him closer to me.
He's holding his body over me, and he deepens the kiss even more.
He rubs his hand up and down my torso, and I grip his thigh intensely.
He releases.
He sits up, forcefully.
He gives me a quick glance, and pulls himself up.
He walks out the door without a word of explanation.
That was all I needed.
I'm in love with him.
