“I know why I’m here,” Ariana said defiantly, adjusting the position she had in the uncomfortable desk chair in Simon’s office. “And I’m not going to do it.” She crossed her arms slowly.

“Then perhaps these might convince you,” Simon said, reaching into the top left drawer to his desk. He pulled out a file folder, filled with various pieces of white paper, printed orderly.

Ariana skimmed through the papers: debt records, underage drinking, and a court summons. She read over the paper, shocked at the names listed and the accounts.

“My father is suing Harry?” Ariana read aloud, astonished.

“Indeed,” Simon replied, gathering up the papers. “You seem to have forgotten that you are American, and technically underage. There are laws forbidding you to date anyone over the age of 18, because you aren’t 18. I convinced your father, though the price wasn’t cheap. Stay with Harry… and I can unconvinced him.” He stacked the papers neatly before sliding them into his desk.

This was bigger than Ariana. It was bigger than Match. It was bigger than what she ever thought she would get herself into when she began dating Harry Styles of One Direction. She didn’t want to jeopardize Harry’s credibility and reputation or cause a huge scene that would sweep the world on magazine covers and the internet. It would ruin her and Harry.

Ariana quickly stood, not even to bother pushing in the chair as she stormed out of the room furiously.

“Where are you going?” Simon called after her. “We have unfinished business.”

“Burn those records before I burn you,” Ariana yelled back, trying to keep strong as she rushed into the elevator.
