24. Harry

Ariana and Evelyn peered past the gate that surrounded the field, as well as the bulky security guard and were horrified at what they saw: a swimming pool.

“I will not stand in that swimming pool,” Evelyn whispered to Ariana, where they cowered the shrubbery that blocked them from the security guard’s view. “It must be freezing!”

“Do you want your boyfriend back or not?” Ariana asked, scanning the small crowd of models, looking for any resemblance of Harry. If this plan went sour, he would swoop in and save her.

“Fine,” Evelyn groaned, taking the sunglasses from Ariana’s head and placing them on the bridge of her nose. Evelyn reached back, untangling her messy hair, letting it fall to her shoulders. She added a dark colored lipstick to her lips and pulled a floppy hat over her head. “Follow my lead,” Evelyn whispered, standing and walking over briskly to the guard.

“Evelyn,” Ariana shrieked, picking up her day bag and trailing behind Evelyn.

“Is this the shoot for Live While We’re Young?” Evelyn asked the guard, masking her newly acquired British accent with the American accent Ariana was used to. The guard looked at Evelyn curiously, sighing before he replied.

“Perhaps,” he replied.

“My daughter, Ariana is here to see her boyfriend, Harry Styles,” Evelyn said, flashing the guard a classy smile, though the guard’s expression remained stolid.

“Every teenage girl is here to see their boyfriend Harry Styles,” the guard explained.

“Ariana,” Harry called. Ariana looked past the bulky guard to see a massive mop of curls running towards them.

He slipped past the guard and embraced her, much to the guard’s surprise. Ariana rested her head on his shoulder, happy to be in his arms again. She had missed him so much. Harry pulled back, looking towards Evelyn, squinting for a moment as he searched for clarification.

“And Evelyn,” Harry sighed, taking the hat off her head. Evelyn sighed, as he revealed her glowing blonde hair. She took off her sunglasses, looking to Ariana.

“Harry’s extensive knowledge of older women has proven to be worth something,” Evelyn smiled, but as she looked back to Harry, he clearly wasn’t happy. “What?”

“You can’t be here,” Harry said, handing the hat back to her. “I was hoping you wouldn’t go through with your plan.”

“You knew?” Ariana put in, stepping closer to Harry warily.

“You might want to take down the poster of us,” Harry replied, smiling towards Ariana. “Match still exists.”

“You don’t understand, Harry,” Ariana responded, “There is a method to Evelyn’s madness. She broke up because Simon told her too.”

Harry bit his lip, glancing from Ariana, to Evelyn to the guard. He took Ariana’s hand in his, giving it a kiss. “Why don’t you go through the gates and up to the wardrobe department before the scene begins to shoot.”

Ariana looked nervously to Evelyn, who nodded as an “okay” for her to go. As she disappeared into the grassy field, Harry turned to Evelyn, pointing to the forest of trees. “Can we go for a walk?”
