My family and I arrived in London yesterday. And all day today my parents were going to start updating the house and putting in the renovations on the house before it was finally perfect. My parents had called in the contractors and were talking business and told me that I would enjoy my day more if I went out and explored the area a little.
I knew it was a good idea so I started walking around the quiet little neighborhood and found a little park that wasn't too far away. I smiled the moment I saw it, I loved any areas that had green life in it. (:
I walked around the park taking everything in. I saw a few kids playing on the playground screaming in joy.
After a while I sat down on a bench sighing. I had already spent and hour here, I think it would be a good idea to go and try and find a place to get food.
I got up and started to walk away when I heard some sniffling, I could tell that it was from someone crying.
I felt a pang in my heart, I hated people being in pain.
I saw a boy sitting underneath a tree with is knees pulled up to his chest and his head buried in his arms.
I bit my lip, I didn't want to just leave this person crying in a park all alone. I reached out to place my hand on their shoulder.
Hopefully they won't get freaked out....
I felt their body stiffen a bit but then relaxed. I saw them wipe their eyes before they looked over their shoulder at me.
I saw that it wasn't just some random person. It was Niall from One Direction...
I was about to point out the obvious, but stopped myself. He was clearly upset. I didn't want to be some annoying fangirl. So I just smiled at him lightly.
"Hey, are you okay?"
He sighed a little bit his eyes still red and glossy from tears, "Umm..I think so..."
He trailed off looking at the ground.
I sat down. And thought of something to do.
"Okay. So I know your upset right now," tears were still slowly dripping from his eyes, "But quick question, do you like minty things?"
He stared at me for a second, "Yeah?"
I smiled, "Okay!" I reached into my bag and pulled out a piece of mint gum and handed it to him.
"It will make you stop crying. I don't know why it does, but it does." I smiled at him and he smiled weakly back.
He stuck the gum in his mouth chewing slowly. I then grabbed a tissue from my bag and handed it to him so he could wipe his eyes.
"Thanks. This is really nice of you." He said smiling, this time the smile reached his eyes slightly.
"If you don't mind me asking, what is wrong?" I asked.
He sighed again and looked down, "These girls said some mean things to me..."
He trailed off. I heard about those "fans" of One Direction that hated on Niall and said a ton of mean things to him. It just made me sad, I knew he must get upset by these comments, but I never would have imagined that it was this bad.
"Take it from me, the girls who say that are just plain rude Niall. And if they say those types of things then they obviously aren't real fans of One Direction. All your real fans appreciate every member of One Direction equally and thinks they all have an important purpose in the band." I could feel myself getting mad at the girls who had the nerve in them to do that. How would they feel if some random person said incredibly mean things to them?
He stared at me in shock for a second, "Wait, you know who I am??"
"Yeah?" I replied simply.
"But you didn't like freak out or anything when you saw me?" He said, his eyebrows scrunching together.
"Well I saw that you were upset and I think the last thing you would need when you are upset is some girl screaming in your face and drawing a bunch of attention around."
He smiled again laughing, this time it was completely genuine. I noticed something this time though, his braces! I completely forgot that he had braces and it was kind of surreal to see them in person. Heck it was kind of weird to Niall in person. But there was something about him that was familiar.
"Did you know that it was me at first?" He asked.
"No. I didn't connect that it was you until you turned around and saw your face."
"Then why did you come to comfort me?" A look of confusion crossing his face.
"Its just something I do I guess...It's all because this one boy in primary education came up to me and was really nice when I was upset and all alone. And it made me feel a lot better by having a person there to comfort me and talk to me. So whenever I see a person upset and by themselves I think back to that day and think about how I felt. If I can help a person, I'm going to take the opportunity to."
His eyes got big for a second, then relaxed again. I just stared at him and he stared back at me. It was actually kind of awkward. I started to look around not knowing what to do all of a sudden.
He finally replied, "Where did you go to primary education at?"
"Mullingar, Ireland. " I smiling thinking back to my childhood there.
His eyes widened again.
I thought my mind was going to explode. This girl just told the story of what I did to a crying girl I saw in primary education. And she just happened to live in the same town as me?
Could this really be the girl that was by best friend when no one else was?
I was just about to confess all this when she pulled her phone out of her bag and excused herself.
She stood up and answered the phone. Talking for a little bit before saying goodbye to whoever was on the line.
She turned around looking sad, "Well, I have to start heading home now."
I jumped up and quickly said, "I'll walk you home!" I said a little too loud.
"I'll walk you home!" He said on the edge of screaming. I startled back a bit but then smiled at him.
"Thank you, that would be very nice."
"I live only a little bit away." I said before we started walking.
We started chatting on the way back to my house. I finally introduced myself properly. Niall had a really amazing personality and he kept making me smiling, and I found that great.
In a short time we reached my house. I turned to say goodbye when he pulled out his phone, "So would it be weird if I asked you for your number?"
I smiled, "Not at all." I gave him my number and smiled at him.
He kissed me on the check and I blushed.
"Bye." I said smiling at him.
"I'll talk to you later." He said smiling before walking off some where else. I stood standing at him for awhile before I realized that I must look pretty weird.
I turned around and walked into my house where my parents were waiting to take me out to lunch.
