* Liam's POV
I walked back to the reception area to wait with the guys. I had no idea how long it would take for Alli to get out of surgery. We sat in some chairs and did nothing. After a couple of minutes I couldn't take it anymore. It felt like hours.
I stood up abruptly and looked over at he boys. "I'm going to get a coffee," I announced and started to walk away.
"WAIT!" Harry yelled, "Get us some coffee too, please," I sighed and hung my head. I wheeled around and looked up.
"Okay," I said exasperated. They all smiled smugly.
I walked up to the receptionist, whose mood hadn't become any better, and she asked were I could get a coffee.
"There's one up on floor three, or you could walk across the street to the Starbucks," she said flatly, flipping a page in her magazine.
"Thanks for the help," I replied sarcastically.
I strode out the revolving doors and across the street. I entered the Starbucks and was overcome with the smell of coffee beans. I breathed in deeply and walked to the counter. I ordered a large latte. I needed to stay awake all night to stay up to date on Alli.
I sat in a little booth in the corner. I sipped my coffee and stared out the window at the hospital. People were rushing in and out the doors and there were ambulances coming and going.
My thoughts were interupted by a tap on the shoulder. Two little girls, probably about 8 or 9, stood there with huge smiles and pads of paper. I smiled at them and signed their paper. I was about to take another sip when another girl came up asking for an autograph.
I inwardly groaned. I did not want to be bothered right now, but anything for the fans. Soon, a steady line of people was made waiting for autographs and pictures. It was probably tweeted about by now.
I whipped out my phone and sure enough, #LiamPayneAtStarbucks, was trending. I was in the middle of taking a picture when my phone rang. I smiled, waved to the fans, and excused myself outside. I rummaged through my pocket and found my phone.
"Hello?" I had a little annoyance in my voice.
"LIAM! Thank god you answered, Alli-" I hit end, cutting of Niall, and shoved the phone in my pocket. I raced across the street and into reception.
I saw the guys standing there with Dr. Mcarthy. I ran over and skidded to a halt. They all stepped back in surprise. They guys looked outraged that I forgot their coffee, but I shrugged it off.
"What happened!?!?" I practically screamed.
"I have good news, and bad news," the doctor started. I stood there, my face hovering within inches of the his.
"We were able to stitch up the amniotic sac and Alli is going to be okay, but I am so, so sorry to say that the baby, did not make it," he pulled his lips together in straight line.
I shared a glance with other boys, and we all nodded.
"Thank you, doctor," I said shaking his hand.
He looked very surprised, but shook back. He obviously didn't expect this reaction, but how was I suposed to act? Alli lost a baby that she didn't want, that was fathered by a man she didn't like, who raped her. I honestly didn't care the baby was lost, that sounded mean, but I was just happy that Alli was okay.
"Did you happen to tell Alli that the baby died?" I asked casually.
Dr. Mcarthy grimanced and nodded. "She had the surgery, it took about 45 minutes, and then we left her to rest. We woke her up about 30 minutes later to give her medication and tell her. She did not take it too well. The nurse ended up sedating her and strapping her to the bed. She's in room 241 if you want to see her."
We thanked the doctor again and rushed off to the room Alli was in.
