I ran off the stage, filled with adreniline. I had just completed my first actual performance, opening for One Direction. This was crazy. I made my way to Sadie and swooped her into a huge hug. We spinned and jumped around and cried aliitle, knowing our dreams were all coming true right before our very eyes.
"You girls were absolutely amazing!" Simon spoke as he walked up to us. "The boys were right to pick you. I don't think I've ever made such a good choice in my life." He hugged us, which had to have been one of the most awkward experiences of my life. "I've gotta go, my boys are about to go on!" He walked off with a slight rush in his step.
I went into the dressing room and grabbed a bottle of water for myself and Sadie, then headed back towards the stage. I found her watching the boys from the wings and singing along to "Up All NIght." I stood next to her and watched the boys too. They were so natural on stage, like it was exactly where they were born to be. I started to loosen up and found myself singing and dancing along with Sadie.
Halfway through "Moments" I caught Harry's eye. He smilled over at me, and gave me a wink. I felt weak at the knees, as if it were the first time I had seen him. Being my favorite song, I really tried to listen to the boys sing, but Sadie was talking to Ashli, and it was becoming difficult.
After the song had ended, I began to let my mind wander a little. The sight of the lights hitting my face and the blur of the crowd had consumed my every thought. The roar of the crowd and the sound of thousands of hands clapping along with us was overwhellming.
I tried to catch a glimps of what the boys were doing when I brought myself back to the present, but there was no music playing. I shushed at Sadie and listened intently. Harry's voice was coming over the speakers.
"I just want to say a massive thank you to each of you for coming out tonight to the first show of our "Live While You're Young" Tour." The crowd went nuts. He waited for the screaming to die down, then spoke again. "And I wanted to share something, or should I say, someone, with you all that's very, very special to me. So you've already seen this person tonight, but I'd like to reintroduce them properly."
My head was spinning and I was slightly confussed on what it was that Harry was doing exactly. Before I could grasp what was happening, Harry had run off stage to me, grabbed my hand, and was dragging me back out.
As I stepped onto the stage, the crowed roared. I grasped Harry's hand as tight as I could and brought my mouth up to his ear so he could hear me.
"What are you doing?" I was practically screaming at him, but it was so loud I wasn't sure if he even heard me speak. But then he turned, smiled and me and said,
"Trust me babe." He flashed that famous, perfect smile, gave a wink, and turned his attention back to the crow.
"This, ladies and gentlemen, is that special someone I was telling you about. Please welcome, the girl I love more than anything, my one and only, Elena Hammilton!" As soon as his mouth closed, all I could hear was the screaming of thousands of teenage girls flooding the theater. Harry kissed my cheek, and whispered something in my ear that I didn't really catch, but I'm pretty sure it was, "I love you."
I gave him a very embarassed smile, waved to the crowd, and left the stage. Waiting on the sides for me was Sadie with the biggest grin possible on her face. She hugged me a said, "That had to have been the sweetest thing, ever!" And she was right. What had happened that morning was nearly forgotten. I knew that after that moment, he was with me, and he had just told almost 2,000 people that he was in love with me. I had never felt so happy than at that very moment.
I spent the rest of the show in the dressing room backstage with Sadie, talking about how incredible the night had turned out and watching the boys perform on a monitor that was hung on the wall. About 5 minutes after the boys second enchore, they filled into the dressing room and we greated them with hugs and congradulations.
The last boy in was Harry, and the moment my eyes locked on him, I ran up to him and practically threw myself ontop of him. I whispered into his ear how sorry I was and that I was over the whole thing. He pulled my face away, brushed the hair that had fallen infront of my face behind my ear, and smiled.
"You were right to be mad. I'm sorry too." He kissed me, and it was the most incredible kiss I had ever felt. I guess when you're in love, every feeling escalates to infinity and beyond. I wasn't planing on ever stopping untill we heard lots of "oooo's" and "awwww's" breaking out from the group of people; I had practically forgotten they were in the room as well.
I turned my head away from Harry and gave them all a blushing smile, then stuck my tounge out at them all.
We waited out about an hour or so after the show, then slipped out the back to head home. I rode home in a car with Harry, Louis, and Zayne, and the entire ride I couldn't help but have an enormous grin on my face. The next morning we were hitting the road and heading to Northern England to play another show. I didn't know how any other show could compare to this one, it was just too perfect.
Harry stopped and dropped Zayn off first, and I suddenly remembered I had left my phone in their flat. I had to call my mom and tell her all about my first show. I told Harry I'd be right back and hopped out of the car. Once I got my phone I checked it to see if I had missed any messages. There were two missed calls, both from my mom, probably wishing me good luck, a text from her, saying how proud she was of me and how she knew we would do great and how much she loved me. But another message kind of took me by suprise. It was from Saide. I had got it about 5 minutes before we arrived back at the flat and what it contained made me nervous.
Niall just told me something that may change everything...
