Abby's Secret

Abby is your average fourteen year old who has just moved from California to New Jersey. She tries to find ways to fit in and act normal but she's crumbling on the inside. All she wants is to go back to California and be with her three best friends who mean the world to her. Her little brother, Todd, gets to her phone and pretends to be Abby and texts a boy from her new school and says she loves him. He has a crush on her and she knows it. Is Abby going to tell this boy the truth that it was actually Todd who texted him, or is she going to lead him on and crush his heart in the end?

1. This Is My Next Class

Monster splashed all over my brand new shirt. I was furious. I had just went school shopping and on my first day of eighth grade some jerk decides to spill his drink on my shirt. He was surrounded by his three friends. I didn't know the guy but by the way he reacted, he seemed like a real douche bag. He laughed and said sorry half-heartedly, that's it. I was the new student so of course he treated me like an alien from another planet and acted like I was cool with him spilling his drink all over my forty dollar American Eagle shirt.

"Maybe if you followed the rules and didn't have drinks in school, you wouldn’t have spilled your drink on my shirt" I said as I gave him a fake smile.

He looked around the hallway to see if anyone had heard what I said as he replied "Maybe you shouldn’t have been so clumsy and walked into a guy clearly holding a drink in his hand."

For a second, there was a silent pause. All five of us were standing in the hall, no one else. I was definitely late for science class by this time. His three friends weren't laughing, he thought it was funny, but in reality, he was just being plain rude. I narrowed my eyes at him, I just didn't understand how he could be so ignorant of my feelings.

One of his friends suddenly broke the awkward silence and said "That's no way to talk to a lady, Cody."

I was guessing his name was Cody. All his other friends' eyes widened and everyone just stared at him, including me. Cody seemed to be pretty intimidating, even to his own friends. You're not supposed to intimidate your own friends, something was wrong there.

"What?" Cody said surprised.

I still didn't know the boys name, he swallowed and glanced at me, then stared back at Cody. "You're being a real jerk. She's right, you shouldn't have drinks in school. It's your fault, not hers."

"Oh, okay, well tell me when you come down from space and back to reality" Cody said as he walked away to math class with his other friends following.

I spun around and ran off to science. I wasn't running cause I didn't want to be late for class, I was running cause I knew the boy who stood up for me would probably want to talk. Even though he seemed like a sweet boy, I didn't know if I could trust him, I didn't want to talk to him and end up finding out he's just like his jerk of a friend Cody.

I was still running as he shouted "Wait!" I didn't even stop to turn around, I just kept running until I made it to science class. I stopped at the door for a second so I could think of an excuse for why I was so late. I looked back, the boy wasn't anywhere insight. I was just about to open the door when I suddenly felt a hand lay on my shoulder, I turned around hastily. It was him. Although what he said to Cody was sweet, I was scared he was going to treat me like Cody did. I just wanted him to leave, I was standing there with my shirt drenched in Monster like an idiot. The last thing I wanted was him, a cute boy, seeing me like this.    "You should really get going to your next class" I told him as I reached for the door handle.   He smiled strangely as he said "This is my next class."

I didn't want to see his face, let alone have my next class with him.

"Thanks" I said plainly as I walked through the door he opened, he followed.
