I tried grabbing her arm so she wouldn't fall, but my strength couldn't keep her balanced. Carsyn was just staring towards the stairs with a glare. I noticed someone was standing there.
"Do you know him?" She kept her glare but answered me.
"You could say that."
I sat down on the ground next to Amber, and held her head in my lap.
"Here Zayn, put this on her head." Liam handed me a damp towel, "And here, for when she wakes up," and advil with a small glass of water. I looked down at her "Amber...Amber" Her eyes slowly started to open, and I sent her a wink. "I know that I make girls faint, cause I'm me and everything, but I never took you as the fan girl type babe." She smiled and I had to laugh at that myself. She stood up to fast and fell into my arms again.
"Looks like he is always there to catch you, love."
"Oi! Shutup Lou!"
"It was just a joke Zayn, and part true. You are quite clumsy Amber." We all laughed. I thought it was cute. Her dark brown eyes started to fill with worry, as she looked over to Carsyn. She nodded and slowly stood up. "Here, take these." I handed her the advil and water. She gulped it down and thanked me. As she walked over to Carsyn, I felt..scared. I felt the need to protect her from something. As she looked over to the man by the stairs, I knew I didn't have to protect her from something, but from someone.
I knew I had to do this. I didn't want to, I haven't seen him since the accident. My whole body shivers, and my leg stiffens. "Babe, you have to do this. I'm right here. Tell him off." My heart started racing as he finally started to walk my way. I grabbed the hand next to me, thinking it was Carsyn's, I felt a heat wave run through my whole body when I heard a whisper in my ear. "It's ok Amber, I'm here." Zayn.
"Amber...it's been a long time.." y nickles clenched in Zayn's hand, and he rubbed them. I started to relax. "Wha..what.. are..you...do..doing here" I wanted to say so much more, but thats all I could manage to spit out.
"Am I not allowed to stay at a hotel when I'm in town?" His smirk traveled half way up his face, showing his dimples off. His eyes were piercing into mine, and i felt my heart beat getting a steady pace.
"Amber, you okay love?" Louis voice rang through my ears. I wanted to say yes, or even no, but my voice was mute. No words could escape.
"She's fine stripes." His voice was hard, and all around scary. I felt my hand roll out from underneath Zayn's hand. I didn't know what I was about to do, before Zayn was pulling my arm off his now bruised nose.
"Amber! You punched him!" Carsyn's happy voice rang through my ears and I turned around slowly. I was staring at my best friend about to completely break.
"Come on babe, lets get you out of here." Liams arm was hard against mine pulling me down the hall. I watched the walls, and they looked the same. We went down an elevator in pure silence. We went through the back doors of a kitchen, and a car was already waiting for us. Liam pushed me in first, then Carsyn. Louis slipped in next to her. And the door shut.
"Where are the others?" My voice hitched. And they both looked at me. I knew Louis wanted to question me, but I didn't feel like it was right.
"There taking the other car. We got 2." I nodded and parted my lips in the shape of an O and tilted my head back against the seat. Carsyn and Louis went on talking non stop for the next however miles we went to eat diner. She was happy. That made me happy. I rolled my eyes at how annoying they were both being though. I wanted to just tell them to kiss already! But. I kept my mouth shut.
My door opened and a very confused looking Zayn was standing there holding his hand out to me. I grabbed it and he pulled me out of the car.
"You wanna talk about it?" He was so thoughtful. And I felt bad for not wanting him to know anything.
"Later." I smiled at him and pulled my hand from his as we walked towards the door of the restaurant.
All through dinner, Louis and Carsyn were inseparable. He kept cracking jokes, and she loves a guy with good humor. She was blushing the whole time, but didn't even care. Infact, red was her color. She wore blushing pretty well.
We were back in the cars now, and I felt even more awkward then before. It's like I wasn't even there, and Carsyn and Louis were on there own date. I let out a grunt but they didn't hear me. I rolled my eyes and checked my phone. It's been a while since I checked my twitter, a few hours at the most. I switched it on. Nothing interesting except more follower's then before, tweets asking me to follow them. I clicked my phone completely off and slipped it in my purse.
"I had a really nice time tonight, do join us again sometime." Louis was staring into the eyes of my best friend. She laughed and nodded. I thought they were about to kiss, but.."babe, your uhm..on my jacket.." She shot up, and for once, I could tell this wasn't her normal blush, this was her, Oh-my-god-i'm-so-embarrassed-blush. I wanted to laugh, but seeing she was my best friend, I pretended that I didn't see it. It would make her feel better. The door snapped open, and he walked out.
"Amber, did you see that?" Her eyes were widened with shock.
"See what?" I hugged myself inside and kept a poker face on the out.
"Oh, nothing, nevermind." She climbed out of the car, and I followed. The car with the others was just pulling up. I didn't know how to act around Zayn now. I pretty much held his hand, and used him as a protector. I wish I could read his mind. I wish I could know what he's feeling. He slips out of the car, and doesn't even look at me. He just goes straight to the doors. Ouch. That hurt a little. I shuffled through Louis and Liam talking and brushed past Niall.
"Amber, wait up!" I slowly stopped and Niall ran up to me. "Are you okay? Like from earlier does your head hurt? Did you get enough to eat?" Interrogation time I guess. I just nodded and smiled at him. His teeth showed in an all perfect smile. The kind that make you swoon. I couldn't just walk away from this adorable creature.
"I'm fine Niall, thank you. It was just..well in short, its a very long story." He slipped his hand into mine, and it felt like we had been friends forever. He is just that type of person. I didn't feel butterflies, but i felt natural. "Well its a good thing your sleeping over then, you have time to tell us." He smirked and I laughed a small and very quiet laugh. He pulled me into the elevator and the others were just coming to the door, and it closed. He laughed this intoxicating laugh. The kind where you have to laugh to. It was adorable. I smiled and fell to the floor in fits of laughter. He laughed even harder that I had fallen, and by the time we got to their floor, my face was burning red. He pulled me up off of the floor and we stepped out. I stopped before turning the corner by the stairs, as I heard talking. I stopped Niall, and shushed him.
"I just want to know her. She didn't punch you for nothing." I knew that voice.
"Look, it's none of your business but when you see her. tell her to come to room 582" I could almost hear the smirk on his face. I heard footsteps and I pulled Niall in front of me. He pushed me out from around the corner. and Zayn was standing there in front of the door.
"I uhm, I don't have a key. I forgot it." Niall shuffled passed us, and the others came bolting from around the corner. I was staring at Zayn, looking at his eyes which were glued onto the floor. Why did he look so sad? I wanted to just reach out and grab into my arms, but that couldn't happen. Niall pushed the door open and we all made our way through.
I sat down on the couch, and Carsyn sat next to me. Liam and Niall sat on the couch by the bar, and Harry and Louis were fighting over the chair. Zayn was standing in the middle of the sitting room. I knew he was about to talk. And I knew what it was about.
"Start talking" Was all he said. I took a deep breath, and Carsyn grabbed threw her arm around me. This could be a very long night.
