I sat on the swings at the quiet park belting out the lyrics to Another World when my phone vibrated. I pulled my phone out of my pocket reading the message.
Got some news to tell you. Come home soon. - Mum x x x
I sighed as I got my jacket off the bench and walked down the path towards my house receiving a few glares from the elderly and road workers since I was still listening to my music on full blast without my headphones, just how I like it.
Once I reached the house just a few minutes later after walking at my slow pace I pulled the door open kicking off my blue vans before wondering off to the fridge in search for some food. Once I decided on a plate of chips form last night’s dinner I walked out the back to find my parents.
“Shoot…” I nodded and I sat crossed-legged on the deck with my food on my lap.
“Might as well get to the point. Remember how you have been begging to go to Ireland ever since your were about ten?” Said my dad.
“Uh-uh!” I grinned
“Well how do you feel about going?” He asked.
“What? But you got no money for all of us?” I said confused.
“What you dad is trying to say is we forgot to mention that he knows Bobby” Mum said biting her nails.
“Bobby? No way. Not Bobby Horan.” I said glaring at them.
“Yes Bobby Horan.” My mum sighed.
“WHHATT!! YOU COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING LIKE ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO! Do you not realise that is NIALLJAMES HORAN’S FATHER!!” I screamed.
“Maybe because we knew you would be like this.” My dad said heaving another sigh.
“True.” I laughed shoving some chips in my gob.
“So anyway we’ve arranged for you to go on a little holiday there and stay with them for a few months.” My mum smiled.
“Wait. Like living with them. Living with Niall’s family?” I asked as my jaw dropped.
“You guessed it now go pack your bags. Flight leaves tonight.” Dad smiled. My eyes widened. This wasn’t real. This only happens in dreams. I couldn’t stop smiled as I skipped down the hall and into my room.
