I pull up to Liam’s place. I guess it’s my place too. Weird. I crack my knuckles and look down at my hands surprised. Wow, I really must be stressed. I haven’t cracked my knuckles in two years. It was bad habit I thought I broke.
Well, here goes nothing.
I unlock the door with my key. For someone reason I feel as if I have to be quiet, even though it’s four in the afternoon. Yet, I close the door quietly and slowly walk into the living room. To my dismay, I hear Liam’s deep voice call from the kitchen, “Emma?” causing me to jump.
I freeze. “Y-yeah?”
“Can you come here?”
I breathe. Okay, remember what Harry said. Just tell him how you feel. He’s going through the same thing I am. I turn the corner to see Liam sitting at the tall counter. His back is towards me. Still wanting to be as quiet as possible, I slowly pull out the chair across from him and sit down.
“We need to talk,” I say and he nods. “Listen, Liam. I’m sorry for everything. I’m such a bitch. I should never have told Niall I loved him, because it’s not true. And what makes it worse is that I have feelings for you.”
“Of course! So if it’s alright with you, I’m going to tell Niall and Tiffany everything. I have to.”
He nods again. “Yeah, I was going to say the same thing.”
I smile, “Okay well I guess it’s time to go break the news.”
“Do you want me to come with you?” He asks standing up.
“No. You didn’t do anything wrong. You and Tiffany were broken up before what happened happened. And she’s my best friend.”
“But Niall is my best friend-.”
“And he will forgive you because you guys are a superstar boy band and you see each other every day,” I reason. “I should do it.”
Liam nods and I walk out the kitchen. As I reach for the door, I hear, “Emma.”
I turn around. “Yeah?”
“What about us?” He asks walking towards me.
“I guess we can pretend that none of this ever happened and just… Start over.”
“I would like that,” he smiles. Then, before I realize what is happening, he grabs my chin and kisses me softly.
“Um, Liam? What happened to starting over?” I ask, half smiling.
“Oh, right. Starting now.” Then he nods goodbye and goes back into the kitchen.
I sigh and walk outside to my car. Time to go confess to Tiff.
