Virtual Reality

Hey. I'm Tabby. I'm 16. I guess you could call me the average teenager. Gossiper, loves guys, and addicted to the internet. Too addicted. Tabby spends her life on the computer, and she knows it. So when she comes across a new virtual world "Palm City", she doesn't hesitate to join. But this world seems more real than ever, and teens all over the world are going missing a couple days after the website is created. Is there something more to Palm City than just a website? Is virtuality becoming reality?

Chapter 8- HIM

I've  been crying for ages now, in real life my mascara's streamed down my pale cheeks, but in Palm City it's been airbrushed out. I even look nice when I'm in fits of tears in Palm City. In reality...meh, not so much. Then I hear cracks of twigs and look up, and freeze. I hear it again.

"Hullo?" I call, sounding like a big baby gurgling through my tears. Then the silhouette of a muscular guy is between two trees, leaning against one. I catch my breath, and my heart stops. It's him. Jonah. My head spins at the thought of his name. "Oh, um, hi." Idiot! How can I be in his spot, crying like a big baby. Damn!

"Crying again?" He teases and tuts, then sits on the fallen tree beside me, and puts an arm round me. Warmth spreads through my body, making me spooked and nervous, but also sets a thousand butterflies free in my stomach. Then I remember something.

"Um, Jonah? Can I get your ID number?"

He looks at me for a couple seconds, and I assume he didn't hear me, but then he nods and gives me a couple numbers. I quickly scrawl them down on a piece of scrappy paper next to me. I hope he can't tell how crazily over excited I am right now. "Thanks SO much!" I say. Oh that sounded creepy.

"Look I gotta go, but message me sometime?" He says, then winks and leaves. Suddenly I've forgotten why I was crying in the first place.
