Hogwarts, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons will join again and compete for glory.
This time the teachers will all be subjected to veritaserum beforehand though!)

Will it all work out this time? Or was the triwizard tournament just something to be forgotten and move on from?

1. Chapter 1

Steam was billowing over the crowded station. Students were running around everywhere, whilst parents dashed after them with forgotten possessions and owls. There were cries of joy, laughter and shock at new hairstyles and outfits. Kayleigh smiled as she picked her way through the crowds of people. She was searching for her best friend Ginny. They had become really good friend s last year as they met up to cause trouble for the Carrows with Neville and the rest.

Ginny had only just about agreed to return to Hogwarts for her final year. Her boyfriend Harry had been a year ahead of her in school, which meant he was now finished. He had not been able to complete his education though, thanks to hunting down Horcruxes Professor Mcgonagall had agreed that he as well as his friends that had also received an interrupted education could have another year at Hogwarts. So now they were in there eighth year. As soon as Ginny was reassured that Harry was returning, nothing could stop her doing so!

Kayleigh finally located Ginny, she was standing with her family, grasping Harry's hand like it was a lifeline. When she saw Kayleigh though, she released her hold on him and sprinted forward to hug Kayleigh. Wondering if her ribs would ever be the same again after such a hug, Kayleigh beamed down at her best friend.

" Its great to see you too Gin!" She said, patting her friends head. When Ginny finally released her and reattached herself to Harry's hand, Kayleigh turned to say Hello to all the others.

Mrs Weasley, who was even more of a hugger than her daughter, enveloped her in another massive hug next.

"Good to see you again dear!" She said happily. Kayleigh had only met the rest of Ginny's family at the end of last year, but Mrs Weasley just took it upon herself to mother everybody.

The train hooted, and they all began to dash towards to the doors. Clambering awkwardly on board, Kayleigh waited for Ginny to finish saying Goodbye to her family and board the train.

The train began to move slowly forwards, and the station rolled past as the train gathered speed. With one final wave, the Weasleys apparated and the rest of the station vanished almost immediately afterwards.

Ginny was smiling as she turned towards her. Harry was still holding her hands, behind them Ron and Hermione were also clutching hands. Kayleigh felt a little left out. She was the only one without a boyfriend. Luna was already on the train somewhere, and even then she mostly just stared off into space dreamily. Not much company at all if you felt lonely.

" So how have you been Kayleigh?" She asked as they all made there way to find a compartment. Kayleigh merely shrugged and peered through another compartment, that turned out to be full as well. They always had to search for ages to find an empty one.

"Im alright, you guys all OK?" They all nodded together. Harry and Ginny smirked at Hermione and Ron. The latter of which shifted uncomfortably under all of there gazes.

"Erm..." Ron began. Hermione rolled her eyes at him and spoke up, flinging her hand forwards for Kayleigh to see.

"Ron and I are engaged!" She explained happily. Kayleigh stared at the ring, it was beautiful! The Diamond was not too flashy, yet glinted perfectly in the sunlight filtering in through the windows.

"Its beautiful isn't it!" Hermione gushed sounding ecstatic.

"Its so pretty! The way it glints in the sun, its perfect Hermione!" Ginny always talked about her youngest older brother as though he had no taste and was tactless. This ring was amazing though.

We finally found an empty compartment and sat down. I sat in my usual seat next to the window. I like to watch the scenery go past, as it changed from villages to fields and finally get a glimpse of Hogwarts.

" So how did Ron propose?" Kayleigh asked Hermione after a while.

" Why don't you ask me that?" Ron said frowning, as Ginny had warned me he usually did when confused with things.

"Oh hush! Its a girl story to tell that's why!" Ginny told him.

When Hermione had finally told them, apparently he had proposed just after they got their Hogwarts letters, the lunch trolley was coming round.

"Anything from the trolley dears?" Asked the old woman, who Kayleigh swore looked more frail every time they saw her. Having had no breakfast, due to excitement, Kayleigh jumped up to buy some food. She bought some cauldron cakes and Bertie Botts, her and Ginny always ate them together and maybe the others would enjoy it as well.

By the end of the train journey, Kayleigh had sampled: A sprout flavored, Lemon, Grass, Parsnip and Mint. Ron swore he had tasted the fabled vomit flavor during the holidays, to which all the others testified against. Part of Kayleigh felt a little left out as they talked about life at the burrow, they had all stayed there together during the summer. Whereas Kayleigh had been stuck at home with her drunk Uncle for company.

Dully, as the others talked about what pranks Ginny's older twin brothers had pulled that summer, Kayleigh wondered if her Uncle was drinking still. Or collapsed already, not unlikely given the amount he had drunk before she even left the house. Kayleigh had promised her mum, who had died in her third year at Hogwarts, that she would take care of her Uncle Sammy though. She was the only family he had left now, which was the reason she had to live with him. Her mum had told her that it was not her Uncles fault that he had become an alcoholic. Kayleigh never understood when people said that, whose fault was it if not their own?

Uncle Sammy was alright, but she was always secretly glad to escape to Hogwarts for the year.

"Are you alright Kayleigh? You have been awfully quiet on the journey here..." Ginny whispered to her as they climbed into the carriages that would take them up to the school. As soon as they were inside they began to sway and move up the winding track to Hogwarts.

"Hmmm? Oh im fine Gin! Really, I was just wondering how my Uncle is coping right now." Kayleigh replied quietly. Ginny squeezed her hand sympathetically as they sat down.

" Hope that the sorting does not take long, im starving!" Kayleigh spoke aloud to the carriage. Ron laughed and turned to look at Hermione.

" See its not just me! Other people feel hunger as well Mione!" Hermione shook her head in disbelief.

"The sorting is very important. Those first years are the future prefec-" She began.

"I know, but it also takes ages!" Ron whined. Kayleigh privately agreed, but felt it best to stay on Hermione's good side. Ginny had told her all about the brightest witch of her age, and her birds she set on Ron in their sixth year.

Hermione and Ron spent the rest of the journey bickering together about the sorting and its importance above food. Kayleigh wondered why on earth these two were getting married if they argued so much. Harry caught her eye, as she looked around the carriage feeling awkward for witnessing a disagreement.

"You get used to them!" He told her quietly as he slipped his arm around Ginny again. Grinning, Kayleigh returned to looking out the windows again. She could see the great doors looming before them as they got ever closer to the place she felt of as home.
