I was just about to jump on to the uneven bars to start my warm-ups on them when I looked up to see a curly-haired silhouette standing in the doorway, shifting feet every few seconds. You could tell that Harry didn't know where to go and was extremely uncomfortable just standing there.
There was a hush that came over everyone that was inside the gym. Everyone's eyes were glued to Harry Styles. His eyes finally found mine and his confused face quickly changed to a huge smile and he began to quickly walk over towards me.
I smilied in return and began to jog over to Harry. As we met in the middle I gave him a quick hug and grabbed his hand as I dragged him up the steps to enter the coaches office, where Grettea would be waiting for us. She told me to bring him up there once he got there so we could talk about last night and how we were going to get the press to know where we were going tonight.
We reached the top of the short staircase and I knocked on the door. I slowly turned around because I noticed it was still silent. I was greeted by twenty different pairs of eyes. I stood up on my tippy toes, which only made me come up to Harry's shoulders barely, and whispered, "Harry, everyone is still watching us."
"Huh? Oh, yeah, that normally happens when I'm in the room." Harry looked down on me and smilied at me. My face scrunched up in confusion. "How can anyone ever get used to such a thing? It's really annoying."
Harry just continued to smile at me and even laugh a little. The door flew open to reveal a smiling Grettea. "Come in, come in, you lovely couple!" She grabbed Harry's hand which resulted in his grip growing stronger on my own hand and dragging me in behind him. We took our seats in the same position that they were when we were told we had to be together. I dropped Harry's hand as I went to sit down. Harry's elbown nudged my arm as I was turning to sit and I looked up to meet the sparkling green eyes giving me yet another confused look. I didn't really know what there was to look confused about, we were infront of Grettea, we didn't have to pretend to be a couple in here. I just srunched up my eyebrows and gave him a confused look in return.
"So, how was last night?" Grettea asked, resting her head on her folded hands being propped up on her elbows with a weird smile plastered on her face.
Harry was the one to speak up. "It was great, we went out to eat then went to see a movie. It was a nice night. A little awkward at first, but at least Rue doesn't hate me anymore." Harry looked up to meet my eyes with a smile on his lips and a short laugh coming from his mouth.
"I never hated you, I just was never very fond of you, is all."
"Is there really much of a difference?"
"Yes, to me there is. 'Hate' is not wanting anything to do with the person and 'not very fond of' is still not wanting anything to do with the person but willing to put up with them."
"That's still basically the same thing."
I turned to face him with an angry look on my face. I hate being wrong. "They are two completely different things, everyone knows that. We can't all be like you and have our good looks do the talking and make everyone like us. We can't all just smile and have all the girls in the room melt and do what you please."
The moment I finished saying what I had said, I regretted it. The smile from Harry's lips had faded and I hadn't even realised I was standing with my finger pointed right at him. He looked as if he were about to respong to what I had said but he decided against it. My face of anger turn to a face of regret and I took a step back and sat down, facing Grettea and avoing the look Harry was giving me that I could see out the corner of my eye.
"Well, now that that's over, let's move on.w Where are you two going tonight so I can let the paps know?"
"We're going Resturant Gordon Ramsay. The one in London. We have reservations at 7. Then we we're going to go to a club, Funky Buddah probably. If that's okay with her."
I just got called 'her'. That stung a little bit. "Yeah, that's fine with me." I said in a soft whisper.
"Excellent. I email that paps right away. Now, you can leave Rue and why don't you go over to Harry's for a little bit, yeah?"
I nodded my head and stood up. Harry followed my suit. I stuck my arm out to him and he smilied a little bit, which was far more than what I had expected to get, and grabbed my hand. I turned around and walked towards the door with Harry behind me. By the time we walked back outside, everyone was back to what they where doing before Harry showed up. I basically jogged to the door so people wouldn't notice us. I grabbed my gym bag and keys and made a bee line for the door. when we had reaching the looby I had stopped and Harry was standing behind me, he still hadn't said anything to me. I opened my gym bag and put on my shorts and zipped up the bag and turned to Harry.
Guilt immediatly washed over me once again. "Harry, I'm sorry... I didn't mean what I said, I just hate being told I'm wrong.. I'm really sorry."
"It's fine, I knew you didn't mean it, but it still hurt. I'll let it slide just this time, though." Harry's face broke into a smile again and he collected me into a bear hug. My face was burried into his chest and I couldn't help but notice how amazing he smelt and how safe I felt with him. I was the perfect height for him, he could easily rest his head on my mine and I could nuzzle into him without being uncomfortable.
He pulled away and threw an arm around my shoulder. "So, to my place?"
"Well, can we go to my house first? I want to shower and change so I don't smell and have to wear this for a while. I'll bring a change of clothes for later and all the stuff I'll need so I won't have to drive back, though."
We had reached my car by now. "Okay, so, I'll just follow you back to your place and wait for you to get ready then?"
"Yeah, sounds good to me." I hugged him one last time before I unlocked my car and sat in and he did the same since he was parked right to my left. I backed up and put on the radio as I began the journey home with Harry following behind me.
The title of this, 'What Humans Do,' is named after a song by my favorite singer, Ellie Goulding. It's her new single, Anything Could Happen. Check it out when you get the chance, it's a great song :).
