"Okay. Spill!" Madelyn said to me as Darcy and I sat down at the table.
"Not yet! We need to wait for Lauryn and Kaylyn!" I replied to her. She squinted her eyes at me and took a sip of her mocha frappe. I did the same to her in a more sarcastic way.
"Okay! We're here! What's going on?!" said a frantic Lauryn. She, nor Kaylyn, knew what was all going on still.
Before I could speak Madelyn saved me the trouble of telling the whole story. "Our little Rue-Rue is growing up! She's dating Harry Styles!"
Kaylyn's mouth dropped. She was the biggest One Direction fan that I'd ever met. "The Harry Styles. And you didn't tell me!? What is wrong with the world!!!" Her hands were wrapped around my arms, preparring to shake me.
"Sit down and I'll tell you everything!" Everyone, who all stood up when Lauryn and Kaylyn entered, sat down almost immediately.
I looked at all of my friends and licked my lips before I spoke. "I was at a party... Well, not really a party, more of just a house warming party for an old friend from Manchester, and he was there. We clicked and he asked me for my number and I gave it to him. He just asked me out a week ago. We went on our first date on Thursday, I think? There's not too much to the story, that's pretty much it."
All the girls eyes were glued on me and I felt like a teacher in the middle of story time. I hated lying to them, I hated it so much. I looked over to Darcy for reassurance. She was the one who knew the truth, the actual truth.
Her eyes wore concern as she looked back at me. Her face contorted into a small, unnoticable smile, and she nodded her head to me. My eyes returned to the girls and I licked my lips again. I do that a lot.
"So? Are you going to say anything?" I asked them.
It began to get extremely uncomfortable. Lauryn was the first to speak up. "When do we get to meet him so he can get our formal approval?"
That was so like Lauryn. She always cared about everyones feelings. She's on the team with us but hasn't been to practice for a week and a half because her sister just had a baby so she was taking some time off. She was coming back next week, though.
"We could all go somewhere Friday or Saturday?"
"Great! I'll set a reminder for Saturday night at 6. We can go out to eat or something!" Said Lauryn.
I just smilied at her. At least she'd said something. I turned toward Kaylyn and Madelyn. Kaylyn wasn't a gymnast like the rest of us but she was a actress. We had met when all of us, Dacry, Lauryn, Madelyn and I, were shopping and I was walking and straight into her in the food court. She had a tray of food, I offered to buy her a new shirt and some more food, and the rest is histroy.
"So, that's it?" said Madelyn.
I shrugged my shoulders and gave an innocent smile. "Are you going to say anything Kay? You get to meet your favorite band!" I said to her, trying to get her to talk.
"I.... Do.... I just don't know what to say! I'm happy for you, I guess? Well, not guess, of course I'm happy, but.... Just... Wow," she breathed out.
I couldn't help but giggle at her a little bit. She just sat there in a daze the rest of the time, with a happy, mysty look in her eyes.
At 8 we all said our goodbyes and I promised to text them all with the information for Saturday night.
Darcy and I were walking back to my car. "Well, that wasn't as hard as I thought... I didn't think they'd take it so well and believe me!"
Darcy nodded in reply. "I know! I thought they'd see right threw you since you're such a terrible liar!" I shoved her shoulder with my own and we packed into the car.
"Rue! Over here!" I heard an Irish voice call over the crowd. It was like the resturant all over again. Camera flashing, people screaming and fighting to get a glimpse of us.
I grabbed Darc's hand and began to drag her towards it. I had only been put in this situation once before, but I was a watcher. I payed attention to Harry and tried my best to mimick him until he came to meet us half way. He leaned down and gave me a quick kiss on the cheeck, which sent sparks through my body. I grabbed his hand and he lead us towards the entrance where the boys were standing and waiting for us. I turned to make sure Darcy was still with us and she was. I gave her a smile, which, when she saw the boys, was fully returned. Teeth and all. I laughed at her, she was so silly sometimes.
We had walked inside and got our lane and shoes and when we were walking towards the lane I grabbed Harry's hand and pulled him back towards me. "I just thought you should let you know that Darcy, the girl who's with me, she knows the truth... The real one... She's my closest friend so I know we can trust her. At least we don't have to act all lovey-dovey around her!"
Harry's face, I swear on it, looked like it's spark had vanished the moment I said that. It returned as quickly as it left, though. "Okay, sounds good to me."
Harry's face became stone, unreadable, as we began to walk back to the group. He didn't grab my hand. He didn't look at me. He didn't say anything. It wasn't until we reached the other boys that his faced of solid stone turned back into it's original form and he would look at me and touch me.
"What are we going to do after this?" said Liam. Darcy was sitting next to him and beside Harry and I.
"We should go out to eat!" said Louis.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
We had a great time... Well, everyone who wasn't overthinking everything.
