I woke up the next morning because someone pulled the curtains up and opened the window.
Allie’s mom: Good morning!
Allie: it’s not morning yet.
I automatically spoke in English because I had been speaking it so much for the past months. My mom and I even started speaking English to each other home in Denmark.
Allie’s mom: Allie, get up!
I turned around and tried to hide but cuddling into Peyton. He was also awake.
Allie’s mom: Are you awake?
I threw my pillow after her.
Allie’s mom: get up we’re going to rehearsals in 2 hours.
Allie: just five more minutes to wake up.
Allie’s mom: fine.
I looked up at Peyton shortly and then I closed my eyes.
Allie: I don’t wanna get up.
Peyton: you have to. You have to get your voice started so that you’ll be ready when we’re going to rehearse.
Allie: I wanna stay in bed.
Peyton kissed me and then he got up and stretched.
Allie: you’re mean.
Peyton: No you just need to get up now.
He took my duvet and dropped it on the floor. Then he lifted me up from the bed.
Peyton: Do you still think I’m mean.
Allie: please put me down.
He sat me down and took my hand to my hip. (Remember; she had a scar across the hip that Peyton stared at when they were in Nashville) It hurt kinda bad. I hated when people lifted me.
Peyton: are you okay?
Allie: My hip hurts a bit.
Peyton: what’s wrong?
Allie: it’s something that belongs to the past.
I walked out to the bathroom and changed into what I wanted to wear at the rehearsals and finished within 45 minutes. When I walked back into Peyton’s room he was sitting on the bed and staring out of the window. He was done too.
Allie: are you okay?
Peyton: I didn’t hurt you did I?
Allie: No you didn’t. You didn’t know. It’s not your fault, I could have told you about it.
I kissed him on the cheek and walked out on his balcony. My mom walked in shortly after to tell us to get ready. It didn’t take long before we were at the place where we were going to rehearse, it was at a school and apparently we were going to perform in front of people.
Jake: who’s gonna go in first?
Allie: I am.
Jake: are you ready?
Allie: tell me what you want me to do?
Jake: introduce yourself and sing their hearts away.
I started shaking as soon as Jake walked out to do the rest before we started. Austin walked up to me and hugged me.
Austin: don’t worry Allie.
He took my hand and held them up in front of my head.
Austin: remember. You can do this. You’re strong.
Jake: Allie you’re on!
I walked out on the stage and people clapped and some of the boys in the crowd even whistled after me!
Allie: Hi! Wow there’s a lot of people here.
I looked down in the ground and then out on the crowd and faced my fear.
Allie: My name is Allie Raff, I’m 16 years old, or I’m turning 17 in next month. I’m from a small country in Europe called Denmark, and I’ve been singing for a little more than a year now. I’m a Teen Hoot artist. Do any of you know who I am?
About 20 people raised their hands.
Allie: well that’s good… Maybe that’ll be a lot of more people if I’m here in a few months again. My life has been really surreal since I first came here and I’ve met people I never in my life thought I would make. People have stopped me for pictures and autographs and it’s just been really weird but everyone should know that I’m just an ordinary girl. My greatest idol and friend taught me that. So to thank her, I’m gonna sing one of her songs.
The music for Ordinary girl started in the background and I sang the song as if it was my own and I owned the stage. I walked down through the audience and back up on stage. They loved me. When the song was over airplanes by B.O.B went on. I hadn’t been singing that song since I was in Nashville so this was definitely going to be hard. I sang the first part and then Peyton ran in on stage. He took my hand and kissed me before we started. Neither of us thought of it before after the song.
I ran down of the stairs and behind the stage.
Allie: Why did you kiss me in front of all those people? I have fans in that crowd!
Peyton: I’m sorry I didn’t think about it.
My mom walked up to me and spoke to me in Danish because she knew something was going on.
Allie’s mom: What’s going on Allie?
Allie: it’s just Peyton… I don’t wanna talk about it. It was a mistake.
Peyton: Could you please not about me when I don’t understand what you’re saying.
Allie: sorry I wasn’t thinking about that. I just told her that it was a mistake and that I don’t wanna talk about what’s going on.
Peyton: it’s okay. I know you won’t say anything bad about me.
Jake walked up to us.
Jake: Get back on stage! People are waiting!
Allie: Shit! I’m sorry Jake! It won’t happen again!
I ran out on the stage again and the music went on straight away. I was going to be challenged even more now. I was going to sing when I look at you by Miley Cyrus. I had never song that in front of anyone beside when I sang it in front of my mother and the boys last night in the studios.
Allie: I’m sorry we had some small problems behind stage. It won’t happen again. This is when I look at you by Miley Cyrus.
Everybody needs inspiration, everybody needs a song
Beautiful melody, when the nights so long
‘cause there is no guarantee, that this life is easy
When my world is falling apart
When there’s no light to break up the dark
That’s when I, I, I look at you
When the waves are flooding the shore
And I can’t find my way home anymore
That’s when I, I, I look at you.
