13. The Number
I glanced out the window waiting for her to call. I asked Katrina to call Erin and find out what was going on with her. Am I forgiven? Does she really want to meet me for dinner or was she just trying to be polite? What was going on in her head? Was I right about her just using me cuz no one else would talk to her? I had returned to my hotel. It was huge! Each of us had our own room but they all connected. Suddenly my phone started ringing. I leaped over my bed and sprinted past the television to grab it off of the table in the kitchen on the opposite side of the room. I immediately answered, maybe a little too soon, probably seeming desperate, "Hello? I spoke as quickly as possible.
So did she. Like all of our conversations it was quick and to the point. She began speaking without even greeting me with a simple hello, "Harry, she forgives you, she does want to see you again, she's a bit confused over why she even forgave you so quickly, she was only talking to you because you were her only option, but she genuinely does want to talk again. I guess you really changed her opinion of you in that conversation. I'll text you her phone number." then she hung up. She wasn't the friendliest while talking to me. I guess she just wanted her side of the deal. She had no interest in forgiving me for...well-
My thoughts were interupted when my phone alerted me of a new text from Katrina. I reached over excitedly and opened the message. I smiled down at my phone. I finally had the number.
