She showed up dressed in a very casual outfit. She didn't realize it, but with her hair pulled back and her high quality (and comfort) tennis shoes, she looked very athletic...and her clothes almost matched, but in a way that worked for her. It wasn't like the time she had worn that perfectlymatching tennis outfit. She had looked sporty cute. She still does now, but she looks more natural. It's almost scary to talk to a girl who's all dressed up and perfect like she had been before. I refocused on the fact that she was meeting some of my friends and introduces her. She seemed a bit overwhelmed as a first impression, but she didn't seem unhappy. Eventually she got more comfortable and we started to play a sort of game.
"Zebra stripes or leopard print?" Louis asked.
"Zebra" she responded instantly. "Definintely zebra."
"My turn!" Niall cut in. "Okay...Halloween or Thanksgiving?"
"ooh...I'm gonna have to say Thanksgiving." Zayn answered this time.
"Thanksgiving?" I blurted out, "But on Halloween you get free candy. If you went from door to door dressed up like a mummy on Thanksgiving using a code of 'Trick-or-Treat' for 'give me unhealthy food' people would call the police!"
"But," Erin spoke, and I guess I may have turned to show that she had my full attention a little too fast, as some of my friends started snickering. Erin blushed, then continued, "On Thanksgiving you get a full meal from whoever's house you go over to."
Liam countered, taking my side, "But every once in a while you have to feed about thirty other people."
Niall, however, let me down. He pointed out, "Every year you have to give away Halloween candy, but you only get any when your in grade school. Thanksgiving is osmething you can celebrate every year, And it's a really nice idea for a holiday, ignoring all of the free stuff."
Three people had sided with Thanksgiving, and only Liam and I wanted Halloween. It all came down to Louis. He spoke, "Not ignoring the free stuff, I'd take candy over turkey and bread any day. Hate to say it, but this one works out to a tie."
We left it at that and kept playing. Zayn went next, with a suspicious and evil look in his eye.
"Harry, this one's aimed at you," he said, turning to face me. "Short term romance, or lasting relationship?"
I looked up at him. What a cruel cruel person I thought, almost laughing and rolling my eyes. He knew I really cared about Erin, and she was right there, and she doesn't seem like the kind of person thatwould be okay with a fleeting relationship. I smiled softly, and then looked up. "Right now, I'd say I want a lasting relationship." I responded after a moment of thought. I turned to face Erin, and I saw her eyes light up and almost begin to glow as I said that. At that moment, seeing her like that...well...nothing could make me happier.
