Suddenly. I heard my phone ringing, bringing me out of my thoughts and back to reality. I picked it up and smiled-it was Katrina. Had she forgiven me for hanging up? I knew I'd forgiven her for being so demanding. And if she was call-
The phone rang again so I picked it up before it went to voicemail. "Hello?" I answered.
"Erin! I'm so glad you picked up-" she began
"I'm so glad you called." I interupted her mid-sentence. "I'm so sorry for hanging up." I apologized,
"I'm sorry I was being so pushy. I know your not the type to just fprgive and forget something like him spying so easily." she said. "Not that you should." She quickly added.
"But I have!" I explained to her. "I went down to the park to practice a little more and he was there, and I had no one to talk to, so when he asked for tennis tips I guess I might have used him a little, but not for his fame, but because I was bored and had no one to talk to."
She screamed a little, "That is so awesome! I cannot believe you actually discussed tennis tips with a celebrity! I wonder if you'll ever see him again..."
"Well, he actually did mention meeting again to finish our conversation, cuz he said he had to leave, but I know he was lying because he said he was meeting a girl named Penelope Potter-a combination of two of the characters from Harry Potter. And he gave a location three hours away even though he said he had to meet her in half an hour. He either got bored or just wanted to meet me again later. I have no idea!"
"Relax" she said, almost laughing, "I'm sure he wants to see you again later."
"He did specfically say that he wanted to meet again, for dinner." I told her.
She squealed, "Oh my gosh, he practically asked you out!"
"It's just dinner." I said, shaking my head and smiling.
"Hey, weren't you gonna find out about that teaching job today?" She suddenly remembered.
"Yeah..." I responded slowly.
"Oh, you didn't get it?" She said. "Well I for one would love to give that school a piece of my mind. If they aren't gonna hire yo-"
"Calm down a bit. I GOT THE JOB!" I screamed excitedly.
I could hear her shreaking so I held the phone about three feet away from my ear. "THIS IS SO EXCITING!"
"And you know what that means..." I said slowly.
"Celebratory ice-cream! Can we meet there in like half an hour?" she asked.
"I'll see you then!" I Confirmed. With that, we said our good-byes and hung up. I showered, changed back into my regular clothes, pulled hair back into a loose pony, grabbed my wallet and was out the door, almost forgetting about his lie.
