While sitting in my kitchen, I heard part of the song "It Girl" start to play. Katrina must've messed with my ringtone again, cuz I knew I had it set to 'classic ring'. A very boring tone, but I hadn't had time to select a fancy ringtone yet. I swalled a sip of milk and wandered across the room to my cell phone. Caller ID read Harry. Excited, I picked up the phone and answered.
"Hello?" I began.
"Erin!" I heard a way too excite voice respond. "So glad I finally caught you at a good moment. This is a good momen to talk, right? Cuz if it's not I could always call back, I'm not all that bus-"
I cut him off, "Now works just fine." Was it a good sign that he had started to just go on and on like that? He had never done that before. I waited for him to speak but he didn't. I broke the silence. "So you called earlier?"
"Yes! Yeah, I just wanted to check up on you, just to see how you're doing." he finally spoke, regaining composure.
"I'm doing just fine. I really had fun last night." I answered his unspoken question.
"Same here. It was amongst the best first dates of my life." he responded. Cheesey much? But I find it absolutely adorable.
"Aww, that's sweet." I responded cheekily.
"So, maybe we can do it again some time?" he spoke, nerves clear in his voice. His question was such a huge relief to me. I still wasn't quite sure if he was interested, but if he's asking me out again he must be.
I was jerked out of my thoughts when his voice came through the phone again, "Erin? Are you there?"
"Yeah, sorry I just got...distracted." I responded, mentally slapping myself for accidently ignoring his question. "I'd love to go out again. Yeah...yeah that sounds fun."
We made plans to meet tomorrow. We didn't talk much because he had company, so we soon spoke our goodbyes and hung up. I began to solo celebrate. I played some music and danced around by yself like and idiot. He was interested! The greatest guy I'd ever met wanted a second date! Today could not have been better.
