I watched Lou take Harry into the kitchen. For a fact I knew Harry would be angry with me for not telling him. I was scared and I didn’t know what he would think of me. I knew as I sat here with El and Niall, Lou would be telling him everything. Behind that kitchen door, Harry could be freaking out, breaking stuff or maybe even crying his eyes out. I didn’t know.
The clock ticked by and every second dragged on like a million years. El was quietly sitting beside me rubbing circles on my back. She would hush a few comforting words in my ear now and then. I blinked away my tears, and looked over to Niall. He was busy texting away on his phone, his thumbs working fast and his face going red.
“Ni? You okay?” I asked in a hoarse voice. Niall didn’t acknowledge me. He just continued working away on his phone. What on earth? “Niall, what are you doing?” I said a bit louder this time. Niall’s head snapped to my direction.
“Oh, er, I was just trying to get hold of Liam. He doesn’t seem to be replying.” Niall started to say but trailed off. My heart beat quickened. Liam.
My boyfriend was out there somewhere, probably beating himself up and sulking out of anger. I was surprised at the fact that he thought I was having an affair with Louis. Then again it is understandable. Louis was the first one to know about everything. Hence I was spending a lot more time with him, but it wasn’t like that. Louis was like an older brother to me, just like Jake.
“Liam.” I whispered. My stomach clenched and my heart twisted. I needed to find him. I needed to clear everything up. He needed to know; he had a right to know. I stood up on my own two feet and steadied myself, only to have Eleanor pull me back down.
“Ally, he will come back. Give him some time.” El said in a soothing voice. I couldn’t help but disagree with her. Liam needed an explanation and I would give him one, now. I stood up and again and shook of El’s grip on me. Niall stood up with me and put his warm hands on my shoulders.
“Ally, it’s not good for you to go out running in this state. Plus you never know when Damen or Kelly for that matter might show up. Please don’t go.” Niall begged. I could tell that tears were threatening to spill just like my own. But I couldn’t leave Liam, I had to find him.
“No.” I breathed. “I am going to find him. I am going to tell him everything.” I shook of Niall’s hands from my shoulders and began to walk to the door.
“Let us go with you.” El called after me. I looked over my shoulder and wiped my tears away.
“No, El. I have to do this on my own.” With that I walked out of the door and quietly shut it behind me. “Please don’t let Liam leave me.” I prayed.
As walked along the paved path, I hugged myself tight. The air was getting colder and the sky was turning a beautiful pink colour, as the sun went down. The kids of the street started making their way home and soon the place looked deserted. Another wave of cold wind brushed passed me, causing goose bumps to form on my skin. I wished I had brought my jacket. Even better if Liam was here and I could just cuddle up to him, taking in his warmth.
Where could Liam have gone? Was Liam okay? Questions started filling my mind and soon I found myself running through alleyways and weaving myself through trees in the parks. What if Damen found him? What if Damen was torturing my Liam? I felt warm tears run down my cold cheek, as I dodged cracks in the pavement and tree roots peeking out of the ground. “Liam!” I yelled out. “Liam, please!” I called again. No reply came.
I slowed myself down as I came to a lake, and I saw a silhouette sitting on the ground next to it. The lake looked beautiful. All the pinks and oranges in the sky reflected of the water’s surface. Small ripples in the water made by the wind, made it seem magical. I gazed at the river in awe, as I kept walking forward, not blinking once.
As I came closer the silhouette became more visible. It was a man. He had his legs tucked in and his arms wrapped around them, whilst his chin rested on top. His hair blew lightly in the breeze. I walked more closely and was hit with a scent; aftershave. It wasn’t any after shave though, it was Liam’s. My heart picked up its pace and I quickly jogged toward the man, until I was standing in front of him.
Tears were streaming down my face and I stood there looking down on him. Liam did seem to notice me. He was deep in thought, staring at the ripples in the water. “Liam.” I tried to say, but no sound came out. My salty tears fell of the end on my chin and nose and landed on Liam’s hand. He suddenly shifted and landed his gaze on me.
“Ally?” He said, but his voice seemed soar; like he was crying for a while. I nodded and took a seat beside him on the bare ground. I went to wrap my arm around his and rest my head on his shoulder, but he pulled away. That hurt. Liam never pulled away from me. I let a few more tears slip out, when he spoke again. “Ally, I want to know what’s going on.” He said quietly, keeping his hands to himself. A part of me was happy to know that his anger was gone.
I hugged my knees close to me, just like Liam and sighed. “Where should I start?” I mumbled to myself, but I knew very well that Liam heard me.
“Why don’t you try from the beginning?” Liam stated, in a calm voice. His eyes still concentrated on the water. I wanted to tell him everything, believe me. I wanted him to know everything. But a part of me was always scared. What if he leaves me? What if he decides that he doesn’t want the baby, because he doesn’t think it’s his? It pained me to even think that he couldn’t leave me. I had to do something; I had to make him promise to never leave me, no matter how bad it was.
“Liam.” I called. He just grunted. “Liam, look at me please?” I asked my voice cracking. “Please.” I whispered, resting my hand on his shoulder.
Liam sighed, closing his eyes, before shuffling to face me. “Start.” He said, still not directly looking at me.
“I will, but…” I started but was cut off by Liam.
“No but’s Ally. I want to know what’s been going on. If you and Lou are not having an affair, like you claim, then what is it?” he asked, anger rising again.
“Li, calm down. I will tell you everything; every little detail. I will tell you everything that you would want to know. Just please, calm down and promise me one thing.” I said. I could feel more tears roll down my cheeks, but I couldn’t care less.
Liam’s face softened and he lifted his eyes to look at me. His eyes were sore and purple circles formed underneath them. My Li had been crying. I had made him cry, I was the reason for him crying. I wanted to punch myself for doing this to him. “What’s the promise?” He asked softly.
I took a deep breath in and contained myself. “I want you to promise never to leave me, no matter how bad it is. I want you to promise that you will always stay by my side. I want you to promise that you won’t be angry with me or hate me after what I tell you. Please?” I said all in one big breath. Once I’d finished I looked at Liam and he looked at me.
“Is it that bad?” He asked his voice as quite as a mouse.
“I’ll leave that for you to decide.” I whispered back. “Do you promise?” I asked in hope.
Liam looked back at the lake and stared for a while. I could tell he was deep in thought. I ran my fingers through my hair, waiting for his answer. I wiped my tears away from my face and attempted to sort myself out. Liam still started at the lake; I need an answer from him. I had to make sure he wouldn’t leave me. “Liam? Do you promise?” I asked once again.
He turned to face me once more and nodded his head. “I promise.”
I couldn’t help but smile a bit. Even though Liam was angry at me, he couldn’t stay angry at me for long. Deep down inside he knew he loved me; he knew I loved him. That’s all there was to it. Liam cleared his throat, turning my attention back to reality. “Now tell me, everything.” He stated, and I did.
Sitting under the trees next to a lake in the sunset, I told him everything. I told him about Damen’s note; I told him what Damen did. I told him about my pregnancy report. I told him about Kelly, and what she did to Niall. I told him about Zayn being used by Kelly. I told who knew and how they found out. I told him every single detail, while he sat there in silence and listened to every single word I said. I knew I'd be fine, because he promised. He promised me.
