I am so angry with myself. It’s been three days, three days! I still haven’t confronted Ally yet. Honestly, asking her is right at the top of my list. However, whenever I do there is always an interruption.
Like on the day I found the note, Zayn was dropping Kelly home (I still am suspicious about her). Niall was busy eating in the kitchen and everyone else had fallen asleep. That’s until I went downstairs to get a carrot when I saw Ally in the living room, skipping though the channels on TV. I sat next to her and started with the question ‘Can I ask you something?’ to make a light approach. Just then Niall decided to burst in shouting “We need more chicken!” Honestly.
Then yesterday Ally was putting the dirty clothes in the washing machines. I decided it was a good time to ask her since now one was around. I started off with the same question ‘Can I ask you something?’ Just then did Liam and Zayn burst in arguing over the remote. Honestly.
Ally has also been vomiting and eating a lot more. I’m surprised Liam and the others didn’t notice anything. Well, apart from El. I told her about the note and the conversation I heard in the kitchen with Kelly.
“So you found this not in her room?” El asked for the third time. She was having a hard time believing it and I could tell that worry had struck within her.
“Yes.” I replied once again. El held the crumpled not in her hands reading it over and over again.
“And you say you heard Kelly talking to Damen?” She asked once again. I nod at her question. El sighed deeply. “Do you think she is pregnant then?” She asked. I nod once again.
“Let’s just hope its Liam’s baby. I don’t know how either of them will cope if it was Damen’s.” I told her. She nodded and handed me back the note. I stuffed it in my pocket for safe keeping.
So now I was down stairs in the garden standing on the porch. It was evening and the clouds looked pink and orange as the sun was setting. I let out a deep breath, and folded my arms over my chest. How was I ever going to tell her?
Suddenly I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, which caused me to turn around automatically. I sighed in relief when I saw it was just Ally. Maybe now would be a good time. “Is everything okay?” she asked me, looking genuinely worried.
“I should be asking you that question, not the other way around.” I replied.
“Why?” she says. Is she seriously asking me that? I roll my eyes, take her arm and lead her to the back of the garden.
"I know what has been going on." I state, eyeing her to see her reaction. Ally goes pale and freezes in her place, before she smiles and looks at me in the eye.
"And what exactly has been going on?" She asks thinking that I was playing some kind of joke or something.
"Ally please. You know what I am talking about. How could you keep something like this a secret, especially from Liam!?" I semi-yell, but managed to contain myself. Yelling at the victim was never good.
"Lou, what is going on?" She asked, her forehead creasing into lines.
"Oh I think you know what is going on. When were you going to tell me that Damen..." I trailed off not wanting to say the words.
Suddenly Ally hit the realisation of what I was talking about. Her hands fell limp by her sides and her eyes were blurry with tears, that slowly started to roll down her place cheeks. I felt so bad, that I took her into my arms.
"You know?" she whispered quietly into my chest.
"Yes." I said quietly rubbing circles on her back. She pulled away.
"You didn't tell anyone did you?" She asked worried, roughly wiping her tears away.
"No one knows apart from me and Eleanor." I admitted.
"How did you find out?" she croaked. Ally looked so fragile and lifeless right now. That carrot killer was going to pay whether he liked it or not.
I dug into my pocket to pull out the crumpled note and held it stretched out towards her. "I found this in your room." I answered her question. Ally took one look at the note and sniffled. It was only one sniffle away from her bursting into tears.
"Oh Lou..." she cried.
"Shhh, it's okay." I comforted her. This reminded me of the time when she first told me about Damen. She let al her feeling come out as a flood as she explained things to me. I was mad at Harry then too for not telling me about her past, but this time I doubted that Harry knew anything that was going on.
"Is that the only way you found out?" she asked in sobs, trying to contain her hoarse voice.
"No." I replied. I decided to tell her about Kelly. "Do you remember the day when Zayn introduced us to Kelly?" I asked, making sure she knew which day I was talking about. Ally nodded as an answer. I took that as a sign to continue. "Well, when she was in the kitchen I heard her talking on the phone. It was definitely Damen, as she said his name." Now Ally's breath caught in her throat. "What happened?" I asked her not wanting to continue.
"I knew there was something wrong with Kelly." She mumbled rubbing her sore eyes. The tears still came out in small streams.
"Why? What did she say to you?" I asked. So Ally knew something was up with Kelly, yet never came and spoke to someone about it?
"Well, before I vomited I was talking to her about her dog." She started off. I gave her an encouraging look to carry on. "I asked her what the name of her dog was and she said..." Ally trailed off, sobbing even more.
"Its okay Ally. It will be alight. What did she say?" I soothed, wiping her tears away. Her eyes were all puffy and red. There were tear marks on her face.
"Damen..." she whispered.
"She said her dog's name was Damen?" I asked, confused. Then it hit me. Kelly wanted Damen, but Damen wants Ally. Now everything was coming together. Kelly was Damen's little rat of a spy.
Ally nodded her head pressing her lips together. She then spoke, "What was she talking to Damen about?" Ah here comes the pressing subject.
"Ally..." I took a deep breath. "From the way you have been acting, Kelly and Damen suspect that..." I trailed of, searching her face for any sign telling me to stop.
"What Lou? Tell me." she urged shaking my shoulders. Her tears had stopped to a minimum now but were still there.
"Ally, they suspect that you're... pregnant." There I said it.
Ally's face dropped. Any colour that was left in her face was now completely gone. Her eyes stayed wide and not even a blink occurred. The last of her tears were sliding down her face and fell of at her chin. Suddenly her cries came out aloud. She started to shake and bit and her lips trembled.
"Oh Ally." I pulled her in for a hug. She needed comfort, she need to feel that someone was there for her and she wasn't alone in this.
I saw Eleanor making her way towards us. As she knew everything I told her, it wasn't something I wanted to hide from her. I mouthed to El that I had told her. She simply nodded her head and when she was close enough she laid a hand on Ally's shoulder.
Ally jerked away immediately, feeling startled, but then relaxed as she saw it was only El. "I'm sorry Ally." El whispered sadly.
"W-why?" Ally asked, blinking furiously.
"If me and the girls didn't leave you alone that night Damen, wouldn't have... and you wouldn't be..." I could tell El found it hard to say the words. I pulled her by my side, as a gesture to comfort her.
"El..." Ally started. "Its not your fault." she said looking down at her feet. "Besides I don't even know if I am pregnant or not..." she trailed off, so it came out more of a mumble.
