It has almost been two years and a half and a lot has happened, but most of them are painful memories. Such as how I was kidnapped, Liam was stabbed, my dad and brother died. However as people always say, after the bad, always comes good. I agree with that saying. I mean, Damen has been arrested, and I have completed school. I also have my own house, car, and a whole load of other stuff I inherited from my dad.
A few relationships have also gotten stronger. Harry and myself are stronger than ever, I also rely on him a lot more since my own brother is no longer alive. Liam and I never take each other for granted, because we already know what it was like to lose one another, God forbid that to ever happen again. I have also gotten to know the rest of the guys a bit more. They are like my three extra brothers, always there to lend a hand. I also have my best girlfriends, El and Dani. They are super caring and treat me like their little sister. Despite Dani being Liam’s ex-girlfriend, she is perfectly fine with being around us.
I have also made a few extra friends when I was still at school. A girl named Kyra. She is pretty, tall and blonde-haired, with sparkling blue eyes. Kyra is a model. She models clothes for famous fashion designers. I have learnt that she was Liam’s girlfriend when they were a lot younger, before Danielle and me. However, I still cannot help seeing that she rather still has feelings for him. Liam says that I’m overreacting, because Niall is her boyfriend now. Yes you heard right, Nialler finally hit it off with a girl. They make a cute couple too.
Dani owns her own dance school ‘Dani’s Academy of Dance’. Yes, Dani is a professional dance teacher. She teaches anyone to dance, from littlest to the oldest of them all, and she is good at it too. Eleanor has moved on to university, she wants to be a lawyer and soon enough she will be. I am really proud of her. I, on the other hand am a writer. Yes I write, I know it sounds lame, but it’s what I enjoy doing. I have a few books published; they are all based on my life and my experiences. Most of them are quite deep and go into a lot of detail, and by that, I mean they are very depressing.
Liam is a lifeguard. I adore him when he sits on that high chair, in his tee and shorts with that shiny whistle around his neck. It’s not what he always wanted to be, but hey, a person has to earn a living, right? Harry is a mamma’s boy. He still lives with his mum, and has not job. Although he is looking, he says he wants to find the perfect job that is suited to him. Auntie Anne and I both chuckle when he says ‘perfect’.
Nialler works at Nando’s. I knew it from the day I met him. Firstly, he loves food; secondly, he is obsessed with Nandos’s. I don’t know how they cope with him there. He will eat all of the orders they get in. That’s Niall for you. Zayn works alongside Kyra in the modelling industry. With his good looks, he would make the clothes look like they are worth diamonds. Louis is a drama teacher. In my opinion that job is perfectly suited to him. He is such a drama queen, and apparently, all his students love him. He gets little pictures, cards and carrots saying ‘Best teacher ever’. It’s so cute.
I stay at Harry’s house sometimes, because living on my own can get a bit lonely. I usually stay at my own place when I want time away from everyone. It gets a bit much for me sometimes, and I hate crowds. My house is also a good writing spot, the peace and quiet. The memories come flooding back, and it reminds me of who I am and what I have.
It also reminds me of the day when I tried to commit suicide. I had my mind fixed there and then, and I was going to do it, if Liam hadn’t stepped in. He has helped me quite a lot in what I have been through. Liam is the only thing that keeps me sane. Let’s face it; life has been very tough on me. We never talk about that happened that night to anyone, and we rarely ever mention it.
Thoughts wondered through me as I stared into mid space, I blinked and looked down at the blank piece of paper before me. I was meant to be writing, but I guess my thoughts got the better of me. I put my pen down and stretched my fingers; I needed a break. I walked down stairs, each step I took echoed through the empty house. I think I had enough time being alone; I wanted to be around people. I’d go round to Harry’s house later.
I was at home eating a slice of French toast, when mum chucked a newspaper at me. I groaned. “What was that for?” I asked really annoyed.
She looked at me with her eye brows raised and her arms folded across her chest. “You young man, need to find a job. I can’t have you sitting in here like an old bag. You need to work, earn a living.” She lectured me. I rolled my eyes and sighed. “Don’t you roll you eyes at me.” She said in an angry tone.
“Mum, I’ve told you. When the perfect job comes around I’ll take it.” I said shoving the massive newspaper away from me, only to have it thrown back in my face.
“That ‘perfect’ job of yours isn’t going to come around like that, Harold.” She said with one click of her fingers. “You’ve got to go searching for it. Now look in the jobs section and get circling.” She said whilst chucking a red marker at me. I sighed and did, what I was told.
I read every single job that there was. There were jobs available for window cleaners, nursery teachers, child minders, bin men, secretaries, and all those other low paid jobs. None of them was right for me. I wanted to do a job, which I enjoyed and paid a lot of money. I chucked the newspaper away. I was going to sit around until that job came to me. I huffed.
Suddenly the ringing of my mobile dragged me out of my thoughts. It was Ally. Poor girl had been through a lot lately. I wanted to be there for her whenever she needed help. “Are you going to pick that up or shall I?” mum questioned standing in front of me with her hands on her hips. I shook my head and answered.
“Hello?” I spoke into my mobile.
“Hey Hazza!” Ally squeaked.
“Ally, how are you love?” I asked. Mum looked more interested in what I was saying at the mention of Ally’s name. My mum really supported her as a mother figure.
“Oh nothing, I was planning on writing a new book but don’t know what I should write it on.” She answered.
“Well, how about you write a sequel to one of your other books.” I suggested, with a snug smile plastered on my face.
“Yeah, that could be an idea. Anyway I rang to ask If I could stay at yours.” She said but it sounded more like a question.
“Of course you can. You can stay here whenever and however long you want. My home is your home after all.” I said. Yay, she was coming over. This family always felt like home when she came over. In addition, mum would stop bugging me about getting a job. Speaking of mum, her face lit up, she loved it when Ally came over and so did Gemma.
“Okay Hazza, I’ll come later on today, alright?” she said, once again knocking me out of my thoughts.
“Alright.” I answered. Then the lines were cut. I looked at mum.
“I will go get the spare her room ready.” She said rushing out of the room. I smiled at how motherly she was. Ally usually stays for a few weeks when she comes and visits and since it the summer holidays the guys would be coming over often too.
Just then, Gemma ran in the kitchen with a flushed face. “Hazza, mum just told me that Ally is coming over.” she stated. I just sat there smiling and nodded. “O...my...gosh. I am so excited.” She squealed doing the happy dance in the middle of the kitchen. I laughed at how silly she was. She might be older than me but she defiantly wasn't mature. The last time she came over Gemma never has to spend time with her because she was at a friend’s house.
I decided to ring the guys and tell them too. I’m sure they’d be happy to know, especially Liam. Poor lad was on full time hours at the swimming pool. He’s got the holidays now, but hasn’t had a chance to see Ally. Ally wanted a bit of ‘alone time’ as she likes to call it. What happened in the past really had changed her. I walked out of the kitchen, leaving Gemma dancing away.
