After a long car journey and a peaceful ride throughout the country side, we arrived at our destination. We parked the car in front of a small cottage inn. It looked beautiful from the outside; it white walls seemed bright in the sunlight and each grey slate on the roof was in place. The windows had beautiful concrete designs around it. I was positive that it would look just as beautiful from the inside as it did from the out.
I was distracted by a forced cough, which made me turn to Harry. Harry and Louis were carrying the suitcases in their hands and Liam was beside me, rubbing circles on my back.
“Shall we go inside or are you going to camp out tonight?” Harry said, jokingly. I rolled my eyes and followed Louis and Harry in the cute little cottage, with Liam behind me.
Once inside the reception area, I gasped looking around. Everything was so homely and elegant. The walls were cream and clean. There were countryside pictures hung on the wall boarded with golden flames. A huge window let in all the sunlight illuminating the whole room. This space makes me feel lighter.
I looked towards the boys, busy talking to the receptionist. Looks like they’d already booked the rooms as the lady behind the desk handed Liam a silver key. All three boys turned around to me with smiles. Looks like it’s time to go up to our room.
We were all sitting in our booked room. It had two single beds and one double bed; all covered in white silky sheets. The room itself was clean and bright, and the view from the window was breath-taking. I could see the tops of far off mountains and distant fields and trees. The sun was settling and the sky was turning beautiful shades of oranges and pinks. I could get used to this; I was going to have to get used to this. I needed to get away from that place; I needed to get away from Damen.
A ring of a phone interrupted my thoughts as I tore my gaze away from the window. It was Liam’s phone and within a second he answered. “Hello?”
Liam got up from the bed and started pacing the room, making hand gestures as he spoke. I wonder who it was. Liam’s face seemed quite tense and his face was turning red. What was going on? I looked over to Louis and Harry. They were in deep conversation about something. I tried listening in but they were speaking too quietly. Turning my attention back to Liam, I mouthed “Who is it?” Liam shook his head in reply and continued listening on the phone.
After what seemed like hours, Liam put down the down and sat down on the bed, letting out an exasperated sigh. I walked over and sat next to him on the bed, put his hand in mine. Harry and Louis stopped talking and turned their attention back to Liam.
“What’s wrong Li?” I asked softly. Liam looked at me and then at Harry and Louis.
“Niall called.” He stated. I was about to ask what Niall said when Liam continued. “Eleanor and Niall rang Zayn’s phone and he answered.” He further explained.
My clenched heart relaxed and I left out a sigh of relief. “That’s great news mate!” Louis said smiling and putting his hands up in the air. Harry nodded his head, making his curls flop around.
“No it’s not.” Liam said quietly. It looked like he was about to cry. Louis calmed down and Harry leaned in more closely. My heart tightened again and I looked towards Liam will a longing face.
“What’s wrong? What did Zayn say?” I asked, bombarding him with questions rolling of the tip of my tongue. I prayed deep down that he was alright. You never knew with that Kelly around.
“Zayn’s phone was answered, but it wasn’t him who answered it. It was Kelly.” My heart sank and from the expressions of Harry and Louis face looks like they were experiencing the same thing. Kelly had trapped my Zayn!
“What?!” Harry and Louis said simultaneously. I just sat there, my eyes wide.
“Yes. Kelly has him trapped somewhere. She wouldn’t even let him speak.” Liam’s voice was strained and you could tell he was holding back tears; as was I. I stood up as quickly as I could. I couldn’t just sit here. Zayn was like a brother to me, and now he needs my help, I have to help him.
“We need to save him.” I said. Harry got up and sat me down again. Liam put his arms around me to prevent me from moving.
“You are not going anywhere.” Liam stated. “I can’t lose you too.”
“You haven’t lost anyone and you are defiantly not going to lose me.” I said; confidence was showing more in my voice as I spoke. “We need to find out where that cow is hiding Zayn. We need to save him.” I said letting a few tears escape my eyes.
“Ally you can’t just get up and go like that. You’re carrying a child inside of you. This situation is very dangerous, so if there is going to be any saving going on, it’s going to be me and the lads.” Louis stated.
“No.” I protested, folding my arms across my chest. “I’m going to save him. With or without you.”
“You’re staying here.” Harry said sternly. His emerald eyes were dull and his face had gone pale.
“Ally, Niall and Eleanor are devising a plan to get Zayn back.” Liam told me. “They don’t want you to worry.” What?! They can’t be serious?! My friend is kidnapped by an evil cow and they don’t want me to worry?
“I agree. Tomorrow myself and Louis will go back to the house. We’ll help Niall and Eleanor in the search. Meanwhile you are going to stay here with Liam. Understand?” Harry said plotting everything out.
“But…” I started to protest but was cut off by Liam.
“Harry is right Ally. Whatever we need to do we’ll do tomorrow. For now you need to take care of yourself. Okay?” I pouted, but eventually gave up and nodded my head.
“Good.” Stated Louis.
If there was one thing I knew, it was that I wasn’t going to sit here and do nothing. I wasn’t going to let them do this on their own. All of this has happened because of me; I am the one responsible for all this.
That night I lay down. My eyes couldn’t come to a close. How could I sleep when someone I knew was suffering, because of me? I kept thinking of all the horrible things Kelly would be doing to Zayn. I sat up in my bed. Liam was beside me. His hair a mess and his eyes closed in deep sleep. Poor Liam, he hadn’t slept in days. Harry and Lou seemed to have gone down to the diner.
I couldn’t help but think all this was mainly because of me. I had to do something. I knew what Damen was doing. “I know what he wants.” I whispered to Liam. “Me.”
With that I kissed Liam on the cheek and slowly climbed out of bed careful not to make any noise. I slowly walked to the door and turned back to look at Liam. I’m going to miss him, when I’m gone, but I know I have to do it. I turned my head and began to quietly walk down the hallways and out of the little cottage inn. Thank the lord, Harry and Louis didn’t see me, or I would have been in big trouble.
I stepped outside into the cold night air and looked around. It was dark and the little cottage looked like home compared to the gloomy fields ahead. I took a deep breath I and set of walking. The first thing I needed to do was get a taxi back to the house. That’s exactly what I did.
