23. Amusement Parks.

~Hallie's POV~

"Okay," I said examining the bags the boys had brought home. Harry had a hand on my waist. "You have almost everything."

Harry looked at me quizzically. "I got everything on the list, what did I forget?" His British drawl was apparent. I loved it so much.

I sighed. Nellie sat on one of the bar stools, going through the bags.

"You forgot milk!" She whined. "The one thing I wanted..."

Harry face palmed himself. "Milk..." he muttered.

Then Liam walked in laughing, the other boys trailing behind him. "Oh, Haz, you forgot the milk in the car." He placed the gallon on the counter.

"We didn't buy--" Harry started and then caught himself. "Right, left it in the car. Silly me." He gave me a You're-Wrong-I'm-Right face. I stuck my tongue out at him.

He laughed and retracted his arm. He moved to start putting the groceries away in the cupboard.

Then everyone left. They all left the room without a word. Except for El. She ran over to me and whispered in my ear, "Could you stay occupied in here for about two hours? I mean you don't have to stay here, you could go somewhere else. Just don't come into the back hallway?"

My curiousity was now spiked, but I managed to nod. I knew my friends, they wouldn't keep Harry and I away from some place if it wasn't important to them. She smiled and scurried the direction everyone else had left in. As soon as she was gone, I turned to Harry.

He was looking at me, confused. I shook my head and grabbed a box of rice. I put it in the cupboard and brushed Harry's shoulder as I went.

"We should do something," I said turning to face him and resting my arms on the counter behind me.

He raised his eyebrows. "Like what?" Seductiveness itched in his voice.

I hit his arm with a dishtowel. "Not that! Dirty minded freak..." I laughed. "I mean, we should have some fun. Go somewhere."

"Where do you want to go?" His focus was now back on the groceries.

Sighing a pulled him up to face me. I put my lips close to his, not touching but close, and whispered, "You are so impossible."

He bent down and kissed me gently. Then he scooped me up and carried me to his car in the driveway. The boys had brought it with them when they had come up to the cabin two weeks ago.

"I think I have just the place." Then he pulled the car out of the driveway and started down the road.

Harry parked the car and walked around so he could open my door. He offered his hand as I got up. I took it. Looking around I asked, "An amusement park?"

"Absolutely." He said and tightened his grip on my hand as a few teenage boys walking by winked at me.

"As a matter of fact, I've never been to one." I laughed and noticed Harry had gone still. "Are you okay?" I asked stopping to feel his forehead.

"I haven't got a temperature." He said, removing my hand. "It's fine, really, I just didn't realize this park had one of those." He nodded his head towards the 'Super Screamer' roller-coaster. "I have a slight fear."

I gaped at him. "Don't most amusement parks?"

He shook his head. "I try to stay away from ones that do. Let's go get wristbands then, yeah?"

I nodded and we walked to the ticket booth. The clerk recognized us right away. She seemed to be at least our age, so it wasn't surprising.

"Harry Styles???" Her jaw dropped and then she turned to look at me. Harry was smiling broadly. He loved his fans. "Hallie Thomas???? Oh my gosh! I know everything about you two!!" She was fangirling inside the booth. Didn't look too comfortable to me.

Harry smiled at her. "We need two wristbands."

"Yeah, sure, of course!" She started randomly throwing things around in the booth. Then smiling widely she asked for Harry's wrist. He obliged and she blushed madly as she fastened the wristband on his arm.

"And yours?" She asked. I stuck my hand in the window just as a man began to walk by. He stared at me and looked me down. Harry, now being attacked by fans, was signing autographs, slightly too busy to be bothered. Then the man started walking towards us. Frantically, I yanked my hand out from under the window just as the clerk finished.

"That would be thirty dollars."

I handed her the silver credit card that I had in my purse from yesterday.

It felt like it took her forever to scan the card. The man was now only a foot away.

"Ah, don't be scared beautiful," He said sweetly. My hand gripped Harry's arm. "I just want to ask you a question." My nails dug into his t-shirt. He let loose a small yelp and turned to face me.

"Hallie, what's--" He stopped short looking at the man.

The man now had a hand on my other arm. I looked to Harry with pleading eyes. His eyes were sending daggers into the man.

"Let the girl go," The man snarled at Harry. The man's grip tightened. I winced in pain.

"You first," Harry growled. Harry softened his grip on my arm slightly, but then placed his other hand on my waist.

The man didn't move. I blinked away tears, fearing Harry would let me go. Was I really worth putting his career in danger? Certainly not.

Harry pulled me closer to him. "Let.her.go." His words were firm.

The man hesitated and then pulled out a gun. Great, another thing to make this outing even better. Thanks for kicking us out of the house, El. I mentally cursed.

Then security was on either side of the man. They took him away to a small building near the Port-A-Potties. A small sign decorated the top of the door. 'Info.'

I turned my attention away from the building to look at Harry. He was examining my arm. "Are you hurt?" His voice was shaky.

"I'm fine." He touched the spot where the man's grip had been. I tried to stifle a yelp, but it came out anyway.

"You're not." He asked the ticket booth clerk for some ice. She smiled crazily again and scurried off to get it.

"Why didn't you go? You could've gotten hurt. That's the second time I've come in the way of your well-being. I'm hurting you more than I'm being a good girlfriend." I paused. "Maybe... maybe we just shouldn't be together."

The look in Harry's eyes hurt more than any injury I had gotten all my life.
